Randomized Controlled TrialRelative Oral Bioavailability of an Abuse-Deterrent, Immediate-Release Formulation of Oxycodone, Oxycodone ARIR in a Randomized Study.
Oxycodone ARIR is a novel oral, abuse-deterrent, immediate-release (IR) formulation with physical and chemical properties that deter misuse and abuse by non-oral routes. In this single-dose pharmacokinetic study, we assessed the relative bioavailability of oxycodone for Oxycodone ARIR and IR oxycodone, and the effect of food on Oxycodone ARIR following oral administration. ⋯ This study was funded by Inspirion Delivery Sciences, LLC. Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. funded the journal's article processing charges and open access fee. Plain language summary available for this article.

Randomized Controlled Trial
A Randomized, Double-Blind, Double-Dummy, Placebo-Controlled, Intranasal Human Abuse Potential Study of Oxycodone ARIR, a Novel, Immediate-Release, Abuse-Deterrent Formulation.
Prescription opioid abuse continues to be a public health concern. Oxycodone ARIR is an immediate-release (IR) oxycodone tablet composed of multiple overlapping barriers that deter manipulation of the tablet for non-oral abuse. ⋯ These data indicate that oxycodone ARIR has the potential to reduce abuse via the intranasal route.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
The comparative pharmacokinetics of physical manipulation by crushing of Xtampza® ER compared with OxyContin®.
To further characterize the pharmacokinetics of Xtampza® ER. ⋯ This second pharmacokinetic study demonstrated that Xtampza ER maintains its ER properties after crushing, unlike OxyContin, which failed to retain its ER properties after crushing. ANZCTR registration number: ACTRN12614000613606.

Pooled Post Hoc Analysis of Population Pharmacokinetics of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen Following Multiple Oral Doses of Biphasic Immediate-Release/Extended-Release Oxycodone/Acetaminophen Tablets.
To examine whether biphasic immediate-release (IR)/extended-release (ER) oxycodone (OC)/acetaminophen (APAP) 7.5/325-mg tablets have clinically relevant variability in population pharmacokinetics (PK). ⋯ Dose adjustments of < 50% are not clinically relevant for IR/ER OC/APAP 7.5/325-mg tablets considering the approved dose of 1 to 2 tablets every 8 to 12 hours; thus, adjustment may be necessary for large deviations from normal body weight but not for sex.

A Dose-Finding Study of Dexketoprofen in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: A Randomized Clinical Trial on Effects on the Analgesic Concentration of Oxycodone.
Dexketoprofen has been shown to provide efficient analgesia and an opioid-sparing effect after orthopedic surgery. In this dose-finding study, we evaluated the analgesic efficacy and opioid-sparing effect of dexketoprofen administered intravenously (i.v.) after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LCC). ⋯ In the present double-blinded, randomized clinical trial, the need for a rescue opioid analgesic, oxycodone, was similar with the two dose levels of dexketoprofen-10 and 50 mg i.v.-after LCC.
