The effect of diabetes on mortality of COVID-19: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) is a very serious and urgent infectious disease. With the development of global economy and the improvement of living standard, the incidence of diabetes is increasing year by year. And it is more common in the elderly. COVID-19 is associated with much chronic disease, especially diabetes. At present, there is no systematic review and meta-analysis of mortality based on large scale of data between diabetes and COVID-19 all over the world. ⋯ The results will be published at a peer-reviewed journal.Registration number: INPLASY202040158.

Meta Analysis
The effects of gastrodin injection on hypertension: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Hypertension is a common chronic disease and poses a huge burden to health care systems. Recent studies have shown that gastrodin injection (GI) has a potential supplementary therapeutic effect on hypertension. ⋯ The current evidence showed that GI combined with conventional therapy can improve systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and clinical efficacy. GI can become a supplementary treatment for hypertension.

Rapid induction of clinical remission in SAPHO syndrome using high-dose Tripterygium glycosides: A case report.
Synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis (SAPHO) syndrome is a rare disease without standard treatments. Tripterygium wilfordii hook f (TwHF) is a traditional Chinese herb with anti-inflammatory effect, and 1.0 mg/(kg·d) dose of Tripterygium glycosides has been reported to significantly improve the disease activity of a SAPHO patient in a case report. However, the optimal dose of TwHF is still unclear. Here, we report the first case of SAPHO patient who achieved rapid remission in clinical symptoms after receiving 1.5 mg/(kg·d) dose of Tripterygium glycosides treatment. ⋯ 1.5 mg/(kg·d) dose of Tripterygium glycosides seems to have fast-induced remission than 1.0 mg/(kg·d) with reliable safety. Besides, Tripterygium glycosides may also have a pharmacological effect of inhibiting osteolysis and enhancing bone strength.

Intestinal lymphangiectasia in a 3-month-old girl: A case report of Hennekam syndrome caused by CCBE1 mutation.
Intestinal lymphangiectasia (IL) is a rare disease characterized by dilatation and rupture of intestinal lymphatic channels leading to protein-losing enteropathy. IL is classified as primary and secondary types. ⋯ This case suggests that in presence of IL both primary and secondary causes should be evaluated. On the other hand, genetic diagnosis is crucial not only for diagnosis but also for prognosis in HS. Life expectancy and quality could deeply vary among different gene mutations and protein variants of the same gene. Further studies and case reports are needed to better understand the clinical meaning of these genetic results and the role of CMV as trigger of IL.

Disabled-2 (Dab2) is a clathrin and cargo-binding endocytic adaptor protein that plays a role in cellular trafficking of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). However, little is known about its involvement in coronary artery disease (CAD). Here, we aimed to investigate the association between Dab2 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and CAD in Chinese Han and Uyghur populations. ⋯ After multivariate adjustment in the Han population, we speculate that rs285512 A allele and rs2255280 A allele may be potentially associated with the onset of coronary heart disease. Individuals with the AA genotype had an OR of 1.44 (95% CI: 1.10-1.88, P = .01, rs2855512) and 1.41 (95% CI: 1.08-1.85, P = .01, rs2255280) for CAD compared with individuals with the AC or CC genotype, respectively. Our data indicates that the AA genotype of rs2855512 and rs2255280 in the Dab2 gene may be a genetic marker of CAD risk in Chinese Han population.
