Refractory adult Coats disease treated with dexamethasone intravitreal implant: A case report.
Coats disease is a sporadic, retinal vascular abnormality, causing blindness. Several interventional methods, including laser photocoagulation, have been proposed; however, the use of intravitreal dexamethasone in refractory Coats disease is not well described. ⋯ Dexamethasone intravitreal implantation was effective in treating refractory Coats disease.

Comparative Study Observational Study
Study on the correlation between anti-ribosomal P protein antibody and systemic lupus erythematosus.
The aims of this study were to compare diagnostic value of anti-ribosomal P protein antibody (anti-P), anti-Smith antibody (anti-Sm), anti-double-stranded DNA antibody (anti-dsDNA), anti-nucleosome antibody (ANuA), and anti-histone antibody (AHA) for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as well as explore the correlation between anti-P and SLE. A retrospective study was performed with 487 SLE patients, 235 non-SLE rheumatic diseases, and 124 healthy subjects from January 2015 to December 2018. Clinical manifestations, laboratory results and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI)-2000 scores were analyzed between anti-P/+/ and anti-P/-/ patients. ⋯ Anti-P, anti-Sm, anti-dsDNA, ANuA, and AHA have high specificity but poor sensitivity in the diagnosis of SLE; combined detection can greatly improve the detection rate. Anti-P is more valuable in the diagnosis of SLE when other specific autoantibodies are negative. SLE patients with positive anti-P have an earlier onset age and are more prone to skin erythema, lupus nephritis as well as higher disease activity.

Essential tremor vs idiopathic Parkinson disease: Utility of transcranial sonography.
Substantia nigra (SN) hyperechogenicity measured by transcranial sonography (TCS) is a promising biomarker for Parkinson disease (PD). The aim of this study was to explore the diagnostic accuracy of SN hyperechogenicity (SN) for differentiating PD from essential tremor (ET). A total of 119 patients with PD, 106 ET patients and 112 healthy controls that underwent TCS from November 2016 to February 2019 were included in this single-center retrospective case-control study. ⋯ In addition, measurement of the SN allowed to differentiate between patients with PD and healthy subjects with a sensitivity (91.6% and 90.8%) and specificity (88.4% and 89.3%) for readers 1 and 2, respectively. Interobserver agreement was excellent (к = 0.91). Measurement of SN on TCS images could be a useful tool to distinguishing patients with PD from those with ET.

[Incidence of thyroid cancer in an oncological clinic of Santiago, Chile].
In Chile, Thyroid cancer (TC) is included in a list of diseases that have a guaranteed access to treatment, endorsed by the Ministry of Health. The care burden of the disease will depend on its incidence. ⋯ The TC incidence herein reported is higher than the figure of 7.9 cases per 100,000 persons/year reported by us in 2014. This difference could be due to a true increase in the incidence of TC, following worldwide trends or to differences in the methods used in both studies.
