Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) is a prevalent disease, and the related literature research has been increasing in recent years. However, there is a lack of scientific and comprehensive bibliometric analyses in the MPS research field. This study aimed to summarize and visualize the literature distribution laws, research hotspots and development trends in MPS based on bibliometric methods. ⋯ The keywords of recent bursts are dry needling (2016-2022), efficacy (2020-2022), validity (2020-2022), temporomandibular joint disorder (2020-2022), and orofacial pain (2020-2022). This study summarizes and visualizes the evolution, research hotspots, and future trends of the global MPS domain from 1956 to 2022. It is helpful for scholars to understand the general situation of MPS research quickly and provide a reference for clinical decision-making and future research directions.

To assess healthcare resource utilization and costs of patients with asthma in Brazilian Supplementary Healthcare System, focusing on hospitalization data. Retrospective cohort study, using data from an administrative database of a private company (Orizon). Patients aged ≥ 12 years with at least one record of emergency visit/hospitalization in the database with the ICD-10 J45 between January/2010 and June/2015 were included and followed until June/2016, death or inactivation of health plan. ⋯ Hospitalization costs were stratified by the need of ICU and values observed were of 9307 BRL (SD = 18,979) without ICU, and 75,252 BRL (SD = 174,248) with ICU need. Asthma exacerbations may cost ~75,000 BRL for an ICU-dependent event in the Supplementary Healthcare System. To improve disease control may reduce disease burden for both healthcare system and patients.

Outcomes Associated With Intensive Care and Organ Support Among Patients With COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Accurate accounting of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) critical care outcomes has important implications for health care delivery. ⋯ Coronavirus disease 2019 critical care outcomes have significantly improved since the start of the pandemic. Intensive care unit outcomes should be evaluated contextually (study quality, data completeness, and time) for the most accurate reporting and to effectively guide mortality predictions.
