Randomized Controlled Trial
Effectiveness of a non-physician community health-care provider-led intensive blood pressure intervention versus usual care on cardiovascular disease (CRHCP): an open-label, blinded-endpoint, cluster-randomised trial.
Effectiveness of a non-physician community health-care provider-led intensive blood pressure intervention on cardiovascular disease has not been established. We aimed to test the effectiveness of such an intervention compared with usual care on risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause death among individuals with hypertension. ⋯ The Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Science and Technology Program of Liaoning Province, China.

Chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids (CLIPPERS) is still a rare autoimmune disease in the world. In recent years, there are more and more reports about the clinical manifestations of CLIPPERS, but the specific etiology and pathogenesis are not clear. In this paper, by collating the literature reported in recent years, in the reported effective treatment cases, we found the current hypothesis about the pathogenesis of CLIPPERS. ⋯ In the future, more observations and studies are needed to further verify the feasibility of the hypothesis. This article expands on atypical clinical manifestations and summarizes treatment options. Hope to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of CLIPPERS.

Case Reports
Patent foramen ovale-associated stroke repeatedly misdiagnosed as cerebral small vessel disease: A case report.
Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is the most commonly used screening method for cardiac structural abnormalities. However, it may lead to a missed diagnosis of partial patent foramen ovale (PFO)-associated stroke. ⋯ TTE has a low detection rate of PFO, such that it is easily missed. Contrast-enhanced transcranial Doppler is easy to operate and should be promoted as a supplementary measure to stroke etiological investigation and primary PFO screening.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a lung disease that is both chronic and progressive and is characterized by glycolysis. However, glycolysis's function and its clinical significance in IPF are still not well understood. We accessed the Gene Expression Omnibus database to retrieve mRNA expression information for lung tissue and other samples. ⋯ All 3 glycolysis-associated genes were validated to be expressed in our cohort. Finally, we used mRNA levels from 3 genes to produce a nomogram to quantitatively predict the prognosis of IPF individuals. As possible indicators for the prognosis of IPF, the glycolysis-related genes stanniocalcin 2, transketolase like 1, and artemin were shown to be promising candidate markers.
