Congenital heart disease (CHD), the most common heart defect in children, refers to congenital disease with abnormal development of the heart or large blood vessels during the fetal period. The researchers suggest that children with CHD show more obvious neurodevelopmental disorders than children with normal development, and children with CHD may have a higher risk of social interaction and communication disorders. This is similar to the characteristics of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, the association between type of CHD and ASD is not well understood. This systematic review and meta-analysis will reveal the relationship between type of CHD and ASD. ⋯ The results will provide evidence for the early identification and early intervention of ASD in children with CHD, which may contribute to improving the neurodevelopmental outcome of children with CHD.

Association between thyroid dysfunction and venous thromboembolism: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Thyroid dysfunction plays an important role in the development of cardiovascular disease. However, its relationship with venous thromboembolism (VTE) remains unclear. We performed a meta-analysis of published cohort and case-control studies to investigate the association between thyroid dysfunction and VTE comprehensively. ⋯ Patients with thyroid dysfunction have an increased risk of VTE. Therefore, it is recommended to perform thyroid function screening routinely in patients at high risk of VTE.

Inflammatory bowel disease can reduce ovarian reserve function in women: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine the role of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in ovarian reserve functions. ⋯ IBD could reduce ovarian reserve function in women of reproductive age, and patients should plan for conception as soon as possible under permissible conditions.

Efficacy and safety of Shugan Jieyu Decoction in the treatment of coronary heart disease complicated with depression.
Coronary heart disease combined with depression is 1 of the 2 major diseases affecting physical and mental health. It has become a hot spot at the intersection of psychiatry and internal medicine. Most doctors call double heart medicine, which has a high incidence rate and a low diagnostic rate. Clinical research shows that Shugan Jieyu Decoction (SJD) has a better curative effect, increased safety, and fewer adverse reactions, but it lacks systematic evaluation. This study aims to integrate clinical data through network meta-analysis and provide more evidence-based medical evidence for clinical medication. ⋯ The analysis of this study shows that SJD can reduce the frequency of angina pectoris in patients with coronary heart disease and depression, alleviate anxiety and depression, provide a reference basis for clinical treatment, and select more effective intervention therapy.

β-2 microglobulin, a light chain in the major histocompatibility complex Class 1 molecule, is associated with mortality in dialysis or uremic patients. Current evidence on the relationship between beta-2-microglobulin (B2M) and mortality in the general and non-chronic kidney disease (CKD) population are limited and controversial. Data from the nutrition and health examination survey database and the nutrition and health examination survey linked mortality file were used. ⋯ Based on the multivariable adjustment model, the adjusted hazard ratios comparing the highest versus lowest quartile of the distribution of B2M were 2.50 (95% confidence interval: 1.90, 3.28) for all-cause mortality in the general population, 2.58 (95% confidence interval: 1.52, 4.37) for cardiovascular disease mortality in the general population, 2.58 (1.91, 3.49) for all-cause mortality in the non-CKD population and 2.62 (1.52, 4.53) for cardiovascular disease mortality in the non-CKD population. The positive associations between B2M and outcomes remained broadly significant across subgroups and sensitivity analyses. Higher B2M levels were associated with cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in the general and non-CKD population.
