Association between PTGER4 polymorphisms and inflammatory bowel disease risk in Caucasian: A meta-analysis.
The results from previous studies on association between prostaglandin E receptor 4 (PTGER4) polymorphisms and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) risk in Caucasian were conflict. The present study aimed to investigate the genetic association by conducting a meta-analysis. ⋯ This meta-analysis suggested that both the rs4613763 T/C, rs17234657T/G polymorphisms had obvious influence on risk of CD in Caucasian. In addition, rs4613763 T/C, polymorphism had obvious influence on risk of UC in Caucasian.

Effect of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 mutations on the prognosis of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome: A meta-analysis.
Gene mutations with important prognostic roles have been identified in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Overall, it is not yet fully clear whether enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) is affected and contributes to the disease in MDS patients. Thus, we performed a meta-analysis to investigate the effects of EZH2 mutations on the prognosis of patients with MDS. ⋯ This meta-analysis indicated an adverse effect of EZH2 mutations with regard to OS in patients with MDS. However, larger cohort trials are still needed to better understand the prognostic impacts of EZH2 mutations on MDS patients.

As one of the major chronic diseases that seriously threaten human health, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has become a global public health problem. Blood glucose fluctuation is a risk factor independent of hyperglycemia. At present, the measures to treat blood glucose fluctuations in patients with T2DM are insufficient in effectiveness and safety. Medical practice and clinical studies have proved that Chinese herbal medicine has obvious advantages in reducing blood glucose fluctuations. In this systematic review, we will assess the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of blood glucose fluctuations in patients with T2DM. ⋯ This study will provide evidence for the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of blood glucose fluctuations in patients with T2DM. Outcome measures include mean amplitude of glycemic excursions, 24 hours mean blood glucose, standard deviations of blood glucose, mean of daily differences, coefficient of variation, glucose time in range, fasting blood glucose, 2 hours postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, HOMA-β, HOMA-IR, quality of life questionnaire, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, and adverse event.

The efficacy and safety of fire needle therapy for COVID-19: Protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a new type of coronavirus, first reported in Wuhan, China at the end of December 2019. As a result of the worldwide outbreak, the number of patients continues to increase. With multiple therapeutic interventions, more and more patients are recovering. Fire needle is used as an alternative therapy. At present, there are no relevant articles for systematic review and meta-analysis, so this study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of fire needle in the treatment of COVID-19 pneumonia. ⋯ PROSPERO registration number: CRD 42020193703.
