Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) refers to an ectopic ossification disease originating from the posterior longitudinal ligament of the spine. Pressing on the spinal cord or nerve roots can cause limb sensory and motor disorders, significantly reducing the patient's quality of life. At present, the pathogenesis of OPLL is still unclear. The purpose of this study is to integrate microRNA (miRNA)-mRNA biological information data to further analyze the important molecules in the pathogenesis of OPLL, so as to provide targets for future OPLL molecular therapy. ⋯ In this study, we established a potential miRNA-mRNA regulatory network associated with OPLL, revealing the key molecular mechanism of OPLL and providing targets for future treatment or prevent its occurrence.

Dynesys system vs posterior decompression and fusion for the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases.
The Dynesys dynamic stabilization system is an alternative to rigid instrumentation and fusion for the treatment of lumbar degenerative disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy between Dynesys and posterior decompression and fusion for lumbar degenerative diseases. ⋯ Our meta-analysis suggests that Dynesys system acquires comparable clinical outcomes compared to fusion in the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases. Moreover, compared with fusion, Dynesys could remain ROM of surgical segments with less operation time, blood loss, length of stay, adjacent-segment degeneration, and lower complication. Further studies with large samples, long term follow up and well-designed are needed to assess the two procedures in the future.

As an antagonist for the WNT signal passway, dickkopf-1(DKK1) have a great important role in the occurence and development of various type cancer. The present paper performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the predictive significance of DKK1 in cancer. To assess the relationship between the expression of DKK1 and prognostic role in human cancers, a total of 16 articals were screened from the multiple online databases (Pubmed, EMBASE, CNKI, Web of Science and Google Scholar) in our study. ⋯ In stratified analyzes, the higher expression of DKK1 could reduced the OS in patients with breast cancer, digestive system cancer and urogenital system cancer, but not patients with the lung cancer. It also showed that higher expression of DKK1 was significantly associated with shorter progression-free survival, disease-free survival and time to recurrence in cancer patients. The present study indicate that higher expression of DKK1 predict an unfavorable clinical outcome in patients with breast cancer, digestive system cancer and urogenital system cancer.

Anti-interleukin-6 therapies for Covid-19: A systematic review, critical appraisal and meta-analysis.
. Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has emerged as a pandemic by end-January 2020. Of the infected patients, 10%-15% may develop severe or critical illness. So far, no definite treatment is available for Covid-19. Cytokine release syndrome may underlie the pathogenesis of severe and critical disease. Anti-interleukin (IL)-6 therapies are being tried to improve clinical outcomes. ⋯ . Although promising, anti-IL-6 therapy for Covid-19 needs to be tested in randomized controlled trials to provide robust evidence.

Dietary supplements for prediabetes: A protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The number of prediabetic individuals is at a high level worldwide and they have an increased risk of developing diabetes, causing severe physical impairment and heavy financial burden. Recently, using various dietary supplements is increasingly common, and relevant trials of different diseases are increasing correspondingly. The effects of dietary supplements have been confirmed in some studies among prediabetic individuals. However, there remains no comprehensive systematic review to assess the efficacy and safety of dietary supplements intake in prediabetic individuals. ⋯ INPLASY202040057.
