Correlation between previously validated questionnaires. ⋯ As opposed to what has been shown in other cultural settings, FAB have virtually no clinical relevance in Spanish LBP patients who are treated in the National Health Service and who are in a potentially active working situation. The influence of FAB on disability is minimal and much less than that of pain severity, and their contribution to the patient's quality of life is irrelevant. Further studies should explore the potential value of FAB in other Latin-Mediterranean countries.

Acute low back pain and radiculopathy: MR imaging findings and their prognostic role and effect on outcome.
To prospectively determine in patients with acute low back pain (LBP) or radiculopathy, the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging findings, prognostic role of these findings, and effect of diagnostic information on outcome. ⋯ In typical patients with LBP or radiculopathy, MR imaging does not appear to have measurable value in terms of planning conservative care. Patient knowledge of imaging findings does not alter outcome and is associated with a lesser sense of well-being.

Stressful experiences in childhood and chronic back pain in the general population.
To determine if stressful experiences in childhood are associated with an increased risk of chronic back problems later in life. ⋯ Our study shows that persons reporting multiple stressful experiences in childhood are at increased risk of developing chronic back problems.

To report and discuss a case of vertebral osteomyelitis presenting to a chiropractic clinic. ⋯ This case report presents a typical clinical presentation of vertebral osteomyelitis and reviews the diagnostic imaging, pathophysiology of spontaneous vertebral osteomyelitis, and treatment options in the management of this condition.

Intradiscal thermal annuloplasty versus intradiscal radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of discogenic pain: a prospective matched control trial.
Two minimally invasive techniques have been used more recently as a possible treatment for painful internal disk disruption (IDD). Intradiscal thermal annuloplasty (IDTA), known as IDET, has already shown promising results in pain reduction and functional restoration. The second technique, radiofrequency posterior annuloplasty (RFA), is used in many interventional pain practices, although studies on the technique's efficacy are lacking. This study compares the effectiveness of those two methods. ⋯ This study shows significant improvement in pain scores and patients' PDI following IDTA but not after RFA of the intervertebral disks. IDTA appears to be more efficacious than RFA based on PDI and VAS scores measured at 1 year following procedure.
