Prognostic value of pretreatment modified Glasgow Prognostic Score in small cell lung cancer: A meta-analysis.
The prognostic role of pretreatment modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS) in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients remains unclear now. ⋯ Pretreatment mGPS was significantly associated with prognosis in SCLC and patients with elevated mGPS experienced obviously worse survival. Thus, pretreatment mGPS could serve as a novel and reliable prognostic indicator in SCLC patients.

Efficacy and Safety of Apixaban versus Dalteparin as a Treatment for Cancer-Associated Venous Thromboembolism: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Background and Objectives: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is common in cancer patients. Anticoagulant therapy with low-molecular-weight heparins (LMWHs) and direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), such as dalteparin and apixaban, have demonstrated efficacy and safety. However, more comparative research of these drugs is still needed. ⋯ Likewise, clinically relevant non-major bleeding occurred in 64 of 734 patients treated with apixaban (8.7%) and 46 of 767 (5.9%) with dalteparin (RR 1.52, 95% CI 1.05-2.19, I2 0%). Conclusions: Apixaban showed a lower risk of recurrent VTE than dalteparin in patients with cancer-associated VTE, albeit with no statistical difference. Statistical significance was observed for no major clinically relevant bleeding but not for major bleeding.

Xiao-ai-ping injection (XAPI) combined with chemotherapy has potential efficacy and less side effects in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). At present, there are many clinical studies on XAPI combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of NSCLC, but the results are different. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of XAPI combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of NSCLC by meta-analysis system. ⋯ Our meta-analyses demonstrated that XAPI adjunct with chemotherapy can improve the patient quality of life, reduce adverse reactions, and enhanced immune function, the treatment is effective and high safety. Which suggests that it might be used for NSCLC. However, a large sample of randomized controlled trials are needed to further study the long-term efficacy of XAPI.

Impact of anastomotic leakage on survival after surgery for gastric carcinoma: A PRISMA systematic review and meta-analysis.
The long-term survival of postoperative anastomotic leakage (AL) following gastric cancer (GC) surgery is still debating. Our aim was to investigate the association between AL and survival of the patients following GC. ⋯ Postoperative AL was correlated with a worse OS in GC patients, but not correlated with DFS in GC patients, but more studies are required to confirm this conclusion.

Predictive value of tumor mutational burden for PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in NSCLC: A meta-analysis.
To investigate the association between tumor mutational burden (TMB) and the therapeutic effect of Programmed Death 1/Programmed Death Ligand 1 inhibitors in non-small cell lung cancer. ⋯ High TMB serves as a potential predictive biomarker for improved progression-free survival and reduced overall response rate in patients with non-small cell lung cancer treated with programmed death 1/programmed death ligand 1 inhibitors. However, its predictive value in overall survival requires further investigation.
