We compared the effectiveness of common airway-securing techniques in preventing endotracheal tube (ETT) dislodgment in the prehospital setting. ⋯ In this multicenter observational series, the odds of ETT dislodgment were similar for face tape, neck tape, twill tape, plastic tubing, and commercial tube holders. ETT dislodgment did not occur with woven twill tape. Patients under 5 years of age are at heightened risk for ETT dislodgment.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Prospective randomized controlled multi-centre trial of cuffed or uncuffed endotracheal tubes in small children.
The use of cuffed tracheal tubes (TTs) in small children is still controversial. The aim of this study was to compare post-extubation morbidity and TT exchange rates when using cuffed vs uncuffed tubes in small children. ⋯ The use of cuffed TTs in small children provides a reliably sealed airway at cuff pressures of

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyThe Flex-It stylet is less effective than a malleable stylet for orotracheal intubation using the GlideScope.
The GlideScope videolaryngoscope (Verathon Medical, Bothell, WA) usually provides excellent glottic visualization, but directing an endotracheal tube through the vocal cords can be challenging. The goal of the study was to compare the dedicated Flex-It stylet (FIS, Parker Medical, Highlands Ranch, CO) with a malleable stylet, as assessed by time to intubation (TTI). ⋯ In a group of experienced operators using the GlideScope, the FIS was less effective for orotracheal intubation than a malleable endotracheal tube stylet.

[Very preterm birth: is maternal anesthesia a risk factor for neonatal intubation in the delivery room?].
To assess the risk of tracheal intubation at birth in very premature neonates related to the type of maternal anesthesia in case of elective cesarean. ⋯ Very preterm neonates delivered after cesarean with general anesthesia require tracheal intubation in the delivery room more often than those delivered with spinal anesthesia. This study cannot assess a causal link between anesthesia and the need for neonatal intubation. However, neonatologists have to be aware of the type of maternal anesthesia because it may interfere with the non-invasive ventilation support policy of the very preterm neonate.

Multicenter StudyAtropine, fentanyl and succinylcholine for non-urgent intubations in newborns.
Describe intubation conditions and adverse events when using atropine fentanyl +/- succinylcholine as premedication. ⋯ Atropine, fentanyl and succinylcholine before non-urgent intubations in newborns has led to a low number of attempts and good intubation conditions with no adverse events.
