Intraoperative Cytologic Sampling for Resected Pancreatic and Periampullary Adenocarcinoma with Implications for Locoregional Recurrence-Free Survival.
We hypothesized that pancreatic and periampullary adenocarcinoma recurrence after surgical resection may be affected by the shedding of malignant epithelial cells during surgical dissection and that this may have implications for disease recurrence and survival. ⋯ Cytologic sampling from ex vivo specimen irrigation after surgical resection of pancreatic and periampullary adenocarcinoma may have implications for LR, survival, and treatment, suggesting a possible cancer cell shedding phenotype.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of Methylprednisolone Plus Azithromycin on Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide and Peripheral Blood Eosinophils in Children with Refractory Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia.
To investigate the efficacy and adverse reactions of methylprednisolone plus azithromycin in the treatment of children with refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP) and its effect on fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and peripheral blood eosinophils (EOS). ⋯ The efficacy of methylprednisolone plus azithromycin in treatment of RMPP is better than azithromycin alone. The former can reduce the levels of FeNO and EOS more effectively than the latter. Key Words: Refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP), Methylprednisolone, Azithromycin, Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), Eosinophils (EOS).

Ticagrelor versus Clopidogrel in CYP2C19 Loss-of-Function Carriers with Stroke or TIA.
Comparisons between ticagrelor and clopidogrel for the secondary prevention of stroke in CYP2C19 loss-of-function carriers have not been extensively performed. ⋯ Among Chinese patients with minor ischemic stroke or TIA who were carriers of CYP2C19 loss-of-function alleles, the risk of stroke at 90 days was modestly lower with ticagrelor than with clopidogrel. The risk of severe or moderate bleeding did not differ between the two treatment groups, but ticagrelor was associated with more total bleeding events than clopidogrel. (Funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and others; CHANCE-2 ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04078737.).

A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Virtual Reality Distraction to Reduce Procedural Pain During Subcutaneous Port Access in Children with Cancer.
We aimed to determine the feasibility of virtual reality (VR) distraction for children with cancer undergoing subcutaneous port (SCP) access. We also aimed to estimate preliminary treatment effects of VR compared with an active distraction control (iPad). ⋯ VR was feasible and acceptable to implement as an intervention during SCP access. Preliminary effectiveness results indicate that VR may reduce distress and distress compared with iPad distraction. These data will inform design of a future full-scale randomized controlled trial.

Long-term efficacy and patient satisfaction of pulsed radiofrequency therapy in temporomandibular disorders: A randomized controlled trial.
Pulse radiofrequency (PRF) therapy is one of effective physical therapy modalities for treat temporomandibular disorders (TMD). This prospective randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the long-term treatment efficacy and patient satisfaction with PRF therapy in TMD. ⋯ Long-term regular pulsed radiofrequency therapy was effective in significantly reducing TMD pain, and the effect was long-lasting following treatment completion. Pulsed radiofrequency therapy should be considered as a supportive physical therapy modality for TMD.
