Randomized Controlled TrialThe effect of chlorzoxazone on acute pain after spine surgery. A randomized, blinded trial.
Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxant administered for musculoskeletal pain, and as an analgesic adjunct for post-operative pain. Chlorzoxazone for low back pain is currently not advised due to the lack of placebo-controlled trials. We explored the effect of chlorzoxazone on acute pain after spine surgery. ⋯ No analgesic effect of single-dose chlorzoxazone was demonstrated in patients with acute pain after spine surgery. Based on these findings, chlorzoxazone cannot be recommended for immediate treatment of acute pain after such procedures.

Oral pregabalin for postoperative pain relief after third molar extraction: a randomized controlled clinical trial.
The aim of this randomized controlled clinical trial was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pregabalin administered pre- and postoperatively in patients with pain and swelling due to the surgical removal of impacted lower third molars. ⋯ These findings suggest that pregabalin may be useful to control acute postoperative pain. Adverse effects are known to be reduced at the low pregabalin dose used in our study.

Case Reports[Torsion of a preperitoneal pedunculated lipoma of anterior abdominal wall mimicking acute appendicitis].

Occasionally lipomas are detected incidentally during abdominal surgery for other organ pathologies. Presently described is rare case of torsion of pedunculated lipoma originating in parietal peritoneum of anterior abdominal wall causing abdominal pain that mimicked acute appendicitis in 35-year-old woman.
