Self-Management for Knee Osteoarthritis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a high incidence chronic joint disease that seriously affects patients' quality of life, and current treatment methods have limited efficacy. Self-management may be an effective strategy for KOA, and clinicians have been showing increased interest recently. However, the effectiveness of self-management for KOA remains controversial. ⋯ The meta-analysis results showed that self-management might help improve the pain, knee function, stiffness, ASE, mental health, and quality of life in patients with KOA. However, it has no significant effect on WOMAC (total) and physical function. Considering that this study has some limitations, we cannot draw clear conclusions based on the results of this study. Nevertheless, we offer much needed insight and encourage more rigorously designed and implemented RCTs in the future to substantiate our conclusions.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is commonly adopted in pain management programs for patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP). However, the benefits of CBT are still unclear. ⋯ CBT is beneficial in patients with CLBP for improving pain, disability, fear avoidance, and self-efficacy in CLBP patients. Further study is recommended to investigate the long-term benefits of CBT. This meta-analysis is registered with Prospero (registration number CRD42021224837).

Efficacy and Safety of Sugammadex for the Reversal of Rocuronium-Induced Neuromuscular Blockade in Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Background and Objectives: Sugammadex is widely used in anesthesia to reverse rocuronium-induced neuromuscular blockade (NMB). In patients with compromised kidney function, most drugs show alteration of their pharmacokinetic profile with reduced clearance. The purpose of this article is to examine the efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and safety of sugammadex in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients receiving general anesthesia, using a systematic review. ⋯ In the three retrospective studies, the possibility of sugammadex-related adverse events appears to be insignificant. Conclusions: Sugammadex may effectively and safely reverse rocuronium-induced NMB in patients with ESRD, although the recovery to a TOF ratio of 0.9 may be prolonged compared to patients with normal renal function. Further studies are needed, considering the small number of studies included and the high heterogeneity of some of the results.

Surgical outcome of chronic Lisfranc injury without secondary degenerative arthritis: A systematic literature review✰.
Chronic Lisfranc joint injuries (tarsometatarsal, TMT) can present as a variety of clinical symptoms and radiographic findings. If significant arthritis at the Lisfranc joint is present, salvage arthrodesis is an option. For patients who receive a delayed diagnosis and/or present with no signs of arthritic changes, selecting the most appropriate treatment can be challenging. This article provides a systematic review of current surgical treatment options and outcomes for patients with a chronic Lisfranc injury but no secondary degenerative changes. ⋯ Level IV; Systematic Review of Level IV Studies.

Efficacy and Safety of Ultrasound-Guided Radiofrequency Treatment for Chronic Pain in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common degenerative disease associated with joint dysfunction and pain. Ultrasound-guided radiofrequency (RF) may be a promising therapy in the treatment of chronic pain for KOA patients. ⋯ Ultrasonography is an effective, safe, nonradiative, and easily applicable guidance method for RF in pain relief and functional improvement in KOA patients.
