Previous studies have found that the main treatment of sinus arrest is pacemaker treatment. It is rare to have 12 s of sinus arrest after radiofrequency ablation, and whether a permanent pacemaker is implanted immediately in this case is not described in the guidelines. ⋯ We consider the potential for postoperative myocardial edema, injury to the sinoatrial node during the procedure, propafenone poisoning, and autonomic dysfunction as contributors to the occurrence of sinus arrest after radiofrequency ablation. When sinus arrest occurs after radiofrequency ablation, we can choose the appropriate treatment according to the patient's condition.

Rhabdomyolysis is a serious complication of status epilepticus (SE) caused by muscle cell damage and can lead to a life-threatening acute kidney injury (AKI). ⋯ This case alerts physicians to consider the synergistic drug side effects and interactions, especially when patients present with impaired liver or kidney functions. The reduction in metabolism or excretion of drugs can cause an increase in serum concentrations and induce toxicity, even when the drug intake at the usual dose.

This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the aging of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). Gene expression profile GSE32719 was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, including 14 young, 5 middle, and 8 old HSCs. Differential expression analysis, short time-series expression miner analysis, and weighted co-expression network analysis were conducted to screen for hub genes whose expression changed over time during HSC aging. ⋯ Moreover, FOS and SIRT1 were regulated by SP1 and BRCA1, respectively, during HSC aging. Furthermore, miR-9-5p may modulate HSC aging by targeting SIRT1. Thus, FOS and SIRT1 may be potential therapeutic targets for age-related hematopoietic dysfunction.

The development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been reported to be caused by sphingolipid family inducing insulin resistance, mitochondrial dysfunction, and inflammation, which can be regulated by multiple sphingolipid metabolic pathways. This study aimed to explore the molecular mechanism of crucial sphingolipid metabolism related genes (SMRGs) in NAFLD. Firstly, the datasets (GSE48452, GSE126848, and GSE63067) from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and sphingolipid metabolism genes (SMGs) from previous research were collected for this study. ⋯ With respect to the Spearman analysis between immune cells and biomarkers, CD37 and CXCL9 were significantly positively associated with M1 macrophages (P < .001), whose proportion was observably higher in NAFLD patients compared with controls. At last, TFs (ZNF460 and ZNF384) of CD37 and CXCL9 and a total of 79 chemical drugs targeting CD37 and CXCL9 were predicted. This study mined the pivotal SMRGs, CD37 and CXCL9, and systematically explored the mechanism of action of both biomarkers based on the public databases, which could tender a fresh reference for the clinical diagnosis and therapy of NAFLD.

In China, Salvia miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine (SML) injection are widely used as adjunctive therapy for patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). However, different studies have reported conflicting results. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis are necessary to assess the efficacy and safety of SML injection for the treatment of DKD. ⋯ In patients with DKD, combining SML injection with ACEI/ARB improves renal function, renal proteinuria, hyperglycemia, blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and inflammatory response.
