To explore the mechanism of the Zhenbao pill (ZBP) in treating spinal cord injury (SCI). The TCMSP Database, HERB Database and literature search were used to screen the effective ingredients and targets of ZBP; SCI-related genes were searched in GeneCards, OMIM, PharmGkb, TTD and DrugBank databases; the potential targets of ZBP for treating SCI were predicted and Venn diagrams were drawn, and the "herb-ingredient-target" network was constructed by Cytoscape software. The PPI network was constructed by STRING software, and the core targets were screened by cytoNCA plug-in; GO enrichment and KEGG pathway analysis were performed on the predicted targets using the DAVID Platform, and visualized with the Microbiology Network Platform. ⋯ GO enrichment analysis showed that the core targets were involved in 1206 biological processes, 120 cellular components and 160 molecular functions; KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the core targets involved 183 pathways, including PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and other signaling pathways. Molecular docking indicated that CTNNB1, SRC, TP53, AKT1 and STAT3 showed good binding ability with the active ingredients quercetin, kaempferol and ethyl isobutyric acid. ZBP improves SCI through multi-components, multi-targets and multi-pathways.

Atelectasis typically denotes the partial or complete collapse of lung segments, lobes, or lobules in individuals, leading to a compromised respiratory function. The prevalence of perioperative atelectasis may be significantly underestimated, particularly among patients subjected to general anesthesia. ⋯ During non-intubated intravenous anesthesia, patients with compromised pulmonary conditions are more susceptible to refractory hypoxemia. Therefore, a personalized approach should be adopted regarding oxygen concentration and the dosage and type of medication. Additionally, preparations for appropriate airway management measures are essential to safeguard patient safety in the event of respiratory issues.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health concern. But there are limited machine learning studies on non-cancer patients with advanced CKD, and the results of machine learning studies on cancer patients with CKD may not apply directly on non-cancer patients. We aimed to conduct a comprehensive investigation of risk factors for a 3-year risk of death among non-cancer advanced CKD patients with an estimated glomerular filtration rate < 60.0 mL/min/1.73m2 by several machine learning algorithms. ⋯ Additionally, SVM with linear kernel function had the highest specificity of 0.9983, while its sensitivity and F1-score were poor. Logistic regression had the best performance, with an area under the curve of 0.8527. Evaluating Taiwanese advanced CKD patients' EMRs could provide physicians with a good approximation of the patients' 3-year risk of death by machine learning algorithms.

Surgical methods for patients with osteoporotic fracture vertebral collapse complicated with neurological dysfunction are still a topic of debate. We designed an improved osteotomy for the treatment of osteoporotic compression fracture patients with neurological dysfunction. Compared with traditional osteotomy methods such as pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) and bone-disc-bone osteotomy (BDBO), the osteotomy range is reduced. Therefore, we use a finite element method to analyze the biomechanical conditions of these three osteotomy methods and provide a mechanical theoretical basis for the surgical treatment of these three osteotomy methods. ⋯ The relatively simple modified osteotomy has certain advantages in stress and displacement. In contrast, the stability of BDBO group was poor, especially in the lumbar intervertebral disc and lumbar body. For this type of osteotomy patients, it is recommended to avoid postoperative flexion so as not to increase the load.

Anticoagulant rodenticides (ARs) are a substantial fraction of murine types. AR poisoning causes bleeding from the skin, mucous membranes, and multiple organs. However, reports of AR-induced cerebral hemorrhage are scarce. ⋯ Rodenticide poisoning-induced cerebral hemorrhage is rarely reported. Because its symptoms are nonspecific, it is easy to miss the diagnosis or misdiagnose. When patients present with direct and indirect symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and limb weakness, rodenticide poisoning should be considered. Coagulation function and head computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging examination should be performed at the earliest to confirm the diagnosis and provide timely treatment.
