Disulfidptosis is a recently discovered mode of cell death with a significant role in cancer. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in numerous biological processes including oncogenesis, invasion, and metastasis. In this work, we developed an lncRNA signature associated with disulfidptosis for prediction of survival of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. ⋯ High-risk patients had higher immune function scores, except for type II IFN response, whereas low-risk patients had significantly lower tumor immune dysfunction and rejection scores, indicating that they were more sensitive to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Drug sensitivity analysis showed that low-risk patients could benefit more from certain anti-tumor drugs, including sulafenib. In summary, we have constructed a novel signature that shows good performance in predicting survival of patients with HCC and may provide new insights for targeted tumor therapy.

A unusual presentation of liver failure caused by Ibuprofen-sustained release capsules: A case report.
Previous studies have shown that acetaminophen has the potential to induce hepatotoxicity in patients, rendering it a prominent drug implicated in the development of acute hepatic failure. However, there is currently no available literature reporting the impact of ibuprofen-sustained release capsules on liver failure. ⋯ There is currently no known peer-reviewed literature indicating that the administration of ibuprofen-sustained release capsules leads to liver failure. When patients taking ibuprofen-sustained release capsules encounter symptoms such as anorexia, skin jaundice, lack of appetite, and nausea, it is recommended that they undertake a cardiac and liver function tests. In the event that ibuprofen-sustained release capsules induce liver injury, it is imperative to administer timely and immediate medical intervention.

Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is often seen as a pulmonary complication of extreme preterm birth, resulting in persistent respiratory symptoms and diminished lung function. Unfortunately, current diagnostic and treatment options for this condition are insufficient. Hence, this study aimed to identify potential biomarkers in the peripheral blood of neonates affected by BPD. ⋯ Moreover, we predicted flunisolide, budesonide, and beclomethasone as potential anti-BPD drugs. The genes CYYR1, GALNT14, and OLAH have the potential to serve as diagnostic biomarkers for BPD. This may prove beneficial in clinical diagnosis and prevention of BPD.

Pyroptosis plays a key role in the death of cells including cardiomyocytes, and it is associated with a variety of cardiovascular diseases. However, the role of pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is not well characterized. This study aimed to identify key biomarkers and explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the functions of the PRGs in HCM. ⋯ Moreover, we also elucidated the interaction network of these biomarkers with the miRNA network and known compounds, respectively. RT-PCR/WB results indicated that PTPN11 expression was significantly increased, and IRAK3 and ANXA2 expressions were significantly decreased in HCM. This study identified PTPN11, IRAK3, and ANXA2 as pyroptosis-associated biomarkers of HCM, with the potential to reveal the development and pathogenesis of HCM and could be potential therapeutic targets.
