This study retrospectively assessed the effects of Jiawei Yiqihuoxue decotion (JWYQHXD) for the treatment of post stroke depression and anxiety (PSDA). This retrospective study included 72 patients who had undergone PSDA. All patients received flupentixol and melitracen and were divided into treatment (n = 36) and control (n = 36) groups. ⋯ However, there were significant differences in quality of life 36-item short form health survey (physical function, P = .02; physical role, P = .01; and general health, P = .04) between the 2 groups after treatment. This study found that the JWYQHXD may help improve the quality of life of patients with PSDA. Future prospective studies are warranted to confirm these findings.

During pregnancy and postpartum, changes in biomechanics can cause dysfunctions in the myofascial system, such as rectus abdominis diastasis, various types of pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction. These common postpartum problems seriously threaten women's health. Myofascial therapy, as an effective means of improving biomechanics, has no unified understanding of its therapeutic effects on postpartum functional disorders. This study aims to systematically evaluate the rehabilitative effects of myofascial therapy on postpartum rectus abdominis diastasis, low back and leg pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction through a meta-analysis of published randomized controlled trials. ⋯ The results suggested that myofascial therapy could effectively reduce rectus abdominis separation, relieve pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, enhance lumbar function, relieve pain, and improve the ability of daily living activities. All the data demonstrated that myofascial therapy had a good therapeutic effect on postpartum dysfunction.

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is one of the most common gastrointestinal diseases, and it is divided into 3 types according to its severity:mild acute pancreatitis, moderately severe acute pancreatitis, and severe acute pancreatitis. The mortality in severe acute pancreatitis is approximately 15% to 30% due to multiorgan dysfunction and the lack of specific treatment. ⋯ And many studies have shown that IL-22 had a protective effect against AP. This article reviews the characteristics and mechanism of IL-22 and its role in AP to provide insight into the treatment of AP.

Traumatic conductive hearing loss (TCHL) is most commonly attributed to tympanic membrane perforations, hemotympanum, or ossicular chain disruption. These complications are generally managed conservatively for up to 6 months with good hearing outcomes. ⋯ In the absence of traditional signs of TCHL, providers should consider OETD as a potential cause of TCHL. We recommend visualization of the Eustachian tube orifice and balloon dilation if clinically indicated.

Diaphragmatic dysfunction is prevalent among intensive care unit patients. The use of Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN) for respiratory problems is a new issue and few study has been conducted so far. ⋯ FSN therapy has potential as an alternative strategy for patients with diaphragmatic dysfunction and severe neurologic disabilities who do not respond well to conventional therapies, but further research is still required to establish the effects of FSN on diaphragmatic function.
