In China, Salvia miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine (SML) injection are widely used as adjunctive therapy for patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). However, different studies have reported conflicting results. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis are necessary to assess the efficacy and safety of SML injection for the treatment of DKD. ⋯ In patients with DKD, combining SML injection with ACEI/ARB improves renal function, renal proteinuria, hyperglycemia, blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and inflammatory response.

Red blood cells (RBCs), traditionally recognized for their oxygen transport role, have garnered increasing attention for their significance as crucial contributors to the pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus. In this comprehensive review, we elucidate the multifaceted roles of RBCs as both biomarkers and mediators in diabetes mellitus. Amidst the intricate interplay of altered metabolic pathways and the diabetic milieu, RBCs manifest distinct alterations in their structure, function, and lifespan. ⋯ Exploring the therapeutic implications, this review addresses potential interventions targeting RBC abnormalities to ameliorate diabetic complications. In conclusion, comprehending the nuanced roles of RBCs as biomarkers and mediators in diabetes mellitus offers promising avenues for enhanced diagnostic precision, therapeutic interventions, and improved patient outcomes. This review consolidates the current understanding and emphasizes the imperative need for further research to harness the full potential of RBC-related insights in the realm of diabetes mellitus.

Misdiagnosis of eosinophilic cystitis: A case report and literature review.
Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare and specific transmural inflammatory disease in clinic. At present, its etiology is unknown, its clinical manifestations are diverse, and its auxiliary examination lacks specificity, so it is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed in clinical practice. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of EC are atypical, the laboratory examination and imaging examination are not specific, and it is difficult to make a definite diagnosis before operation. The diagnosis depends on pathological examination. Transurethral resection of the lesion can obviously improve the positive rate of biopsy while completely removing the lesion, and the combined drug treatment can achieve satisfactory results in a short period of time. Active follow-up after operation is very important to identify the recurrence of the disease and prevent the upper urinary tract function from being damaged.

To explore the mechanism of the Zhenbao pill (ZBP) in treating spinal cord injury (SCI). The TCMSP Database, HERB Database and literature search were used to screen the effective ingredients and targets of ZBP; SCI-related genes were searched in GeneCards, OMIM, PharmGkb, TTD and DrugBank databases; the potential targets of ZBP for treating SCI were predicted and Venn diagrams were drawn, and the "herb-ingredient-target" network was constructed by Cytoscape software. The PPI network was constructed by STRING software, and the core targets were screened by cytoNCA plug-in; GO enrichment and KEGG pathway analysis were performed on the predicted targets using the DAVID Platform, and visualized with the Microbiology Network Platform. ⋯ GO enrichment analysis showed that the core targets were involved in 1206 biological processes, 120 cellular components and 160 molecular functions; KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the core targets involved 183 pathways, including PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and other signaling pathways. Molecular docking indicated that CTNNB1, SRC, TP53, AKT1 and STAT3 showed good binding ability with the active ingredients quercetin, kaempferol and ethyl isobutyric acid. ZBP improves SCI through multi-components, multi-targets and multi-pathways.

Effects of early enteral nutrition in patients with severe burns: A systematic review.
Nutritional problems in the early stages of severe burns are prominent and seriously affect the clinical outcomes of patients. Our aim is to analyze the effects of early enteral nutrition (EEN) in patients with severe burns. ⋯ EEN plays an important role in the rehabilitation of patients with severe burns. EEN is beneficial to reduce complications and the length of hospital stay, maintain organ function, optimize the nutritional status of patients, promote wound healing, and improve the survival rate of patients.
