The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of the interferon genes (cGAS-STING) pathway is essential in inflammation-driven tumor occurrence and progression. However, the prognostic roles and immune functions of cGAS-STING pathway-related genes in patients with prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD) remain unclear. cGAS-STING pathway-related genes were obtained from the gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) website. Univariate Cox regression analysis was performed to screen the prognosis-related hub genes in the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) and GSE116918 datasets. ⋯ Notably, the CPRS can differentiate responsive patients from non-responsive individuals treated with PD-L1 blockades in an independent cohort. In addition, higher CPRS was associated with a more favorable prognosis. The proposed risk model was developed based on 6 cGAS-STING pathway related-genes, which can be used as a promising predictor for patient survival and immunotherapeutic responses in PRAD, contributing to treatment strategy-related decision-making.

Intervention of Compound Xueshuantong Capsule on the incidence of heart failure in patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI based on the combination of disease and syndrome: A multi-center, randomized, double-blind, controlled trial.
Heart failure (HF), manifested as a severe or end stage of various cardiac diseases, is characterized by increased incidence, mortality, re-hospitalization, and economic burden. Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the most common and important causes of HF. Since 2005, acute MI (AMI)-associated mortality in China has been on the rise, and MI accounts for 23.1% of the causes of HF. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has the unique advantages of controlling angina pectoris and HF symptoms, and improving patients' quality of life. Compound Xueshuantong Capsule (CXSTC), also named as Fufang Xueshuantong Capsule, has the effect of increasing cardiac output and protecting myocardial function. In this trial, we aim to investigate the efficacy and safety of CXSTC in the prophylactic treatment of post-infarction HF and attempt to provide a clinical evidence-based basis for the prophylactic treatment of HF after AMI using TCM. ⋯ By investigating the efficacy and safety of CXSTC, this study will provide a clinical evidence base for the use of TCM in the prophylactic treatment of post-infarction HF.

Association between arsenic exposure and inflammatory cytokines and C-reaction protein: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Previous studies have reported controversial results on levels of inflammatory cytokines in patients with arsenic exposure. This study aims to evaluate the associations between arsenic exposure and inflammatory cytokines and C-reaction protein (CRP). ⋯ Many cytokines (such as IL-6, IL-8, and IL-12) have altered in individuals with arsenic exposure, this indicates arsenic exposure could trigger the cell-mediated inflammatory response. Regular examining immune function (such as inflammatory cytokines) in individuals with the risk of arsenic exposure is important to human health.

Study on the effect of acupunture treatment on autonomic nerve dysfunction in convalescent period of stroke based on heart rate variability assessment technique.
Stroke patients with autonomic dysfunction are more likely to develop cardiac problems, which have been linked to lower functional outcomes and increased mortality. In this study, heart rate variability (HRV) detection paired with the Clinical Feature Scale will be utilized to elucidate the immediate impact of manual acupuncture on autonomic dysfunction of varying severity in the convalescence stroke phase. This is a randomized, single-blind, controlled clinical trial approach. ⋯ The secondary outcome is the score of clinical feature scale at week 4 compared with the baseline. Adverse events and safety indices will be recorded throughout the experiment. The SPSS V.25.0 statistical program was applied for analysis, and measurement data were expressed as mean ± SD.

Restless leg syndrome (Restless legs syndrome, RLS) is a common neurological disorder. The pathogenesis of RLS remains unknown, and recent pathophysiological developments have shown the contribution of various genetic markers, neurotransmitter dysfunction, and iron deficiency to the disease, as well as other unidentified contributing mechanisms, particularly chronic renal dysfunction. RLS enhancement syndrome is frequently observed in patients with RLS who have received long-term dopamine agonist therapy, manifesting as a worsening of RLS symptoms, usually associated with an increase in the dose of dopamine agonist. ⋯ First-line treatment options include iron supplementation for those with evidence of reduced iron stores, or gabapentin or pregabalin, as well as dopamine agonists, such as pramipexole. Second-line therapies include opioids such as tramadol. RLS seriously affects the quality of life of patients, and because its pathogenesis is unclear, more biological evidence and treatment methods need to be explored.
