The efficacy of combined therapy of qingfeiPaidu capsule and lianhuaqingwen capsule nursing interventions for hospitalized patients with COVID-19: A retrospective study of medical records.
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) caused a global pandemic burden, affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals, having life-threatening outcomes. Traditional Chinese Medicine plays a crucial role in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of combined therapy of qingfeiPaidu (QFPD) capsule and lianhuaqingwen (LHQW) capsule nursing interventions in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. ⋯ All patients met the discharge criteria after 30-day treatment in 3 groups. Combined therapy of QFPD and LHQW demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory effects compared with those of only QFPD or LHQW in patients with mild and moderate COVID-19. The combined therapies may alleviate clinical symptoms of COVID-19 patients by improving inflammation and immune function.

Effects of myofascial release with tennis ball on spasticity and motor functions of upper limb in patients with chronic stroke: A randomized controlled trial.
Impaired motor function and upper extremity spasticity are common concerns in patients after stroke. It is essential to plan therapeutic techniques to recover from the stroke. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of myofascial release with the tennis ball on spasticity and motor functions of the upper extremity in patients with chronic stroke. ⋯ Myofascial release performed with a tennis ball in conjunction with conventional physiotherapy has more beneficial effects on spasticity and motor functions of the upper extremity in patients with chronic stroke compared to conventional therapy alone.

Effect of vitamin D on endothelial and ventricular function in chronic heart failure patients: A prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.
Low 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) levels are common in patients with chronic heart failure (HF) and are associated with increased mortality risk. This study aimed to establish the safety and efficacy of oral vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) supplementation and its effect on endothelial and ventricular function in patients with stable HF. ⋯ A daily vitamin D dose of 4000 IU for chronic HF appears to be safe. This dosage did not improve endothelial function but did improve the 6-min walk distance, symptoms, and left atrial diameter at 6 months.

Immobilisation of torus fractures of the wrist in children (FORCE): a randomised controlled equivalence trial in the UK.
The most common fractures in children are torus (buckle) fractures of the wrist. Controversy exists over treatment, which ranges from splint immobilisation and discharge to cast immobilisation, follow-up, and repeat imaging. This study compared pain and function in affected children offered a soft bandage and immediate discharge with those receiving rigid immobilisation and follow-up as per treating centre protocol. ⋯ UK National Institute for Health and Care Research.
