Trauma-focused (psycho)therapies (TFTs) are often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of (military) veterans, including prolonged exposure (PE), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. However, research thus far has not conclusively determined predictors of TFTs' success in this population. This scoping review's objectives are 1) to explore whether it is possible, based on currently available evidence, to match TFTs to veterans to maximize their outcomes, (2) to identify possible contraindications and adaptations of TFTs for this population, and (3) to identify gaps in the literature to guide future research. ⋯ The current literature on TFTs to treat PTSD in veterans contains several knowledge gaps, including regarding treatment matching. Future research should examine effectiveness of these treatments using multiple sources of outcomes, longer time periods, combination with other treatment, outcomes outside of PTSD symptoms (such as functioning), and resilience.

Platelet-rich plasma injections for the treatment of degenerative orthopedic conditions have good evidence for safety, pain relief, and functional improvement. The U. ⋯ Military is providing platelet-rich plasma services for military services members and TRICARE beneficiaries. The use of this safe and effective treatment should be continued and expanded.

Debonded denture teeth is a common complication on a fixed or removable dental prosthesis when denture teeth are fabricated separately from the denture base and bonded together. Missing denture teeth can alter a person's appearance, speech, or ability to eat. Traditionally, denture teeth repair can be a challenge for clinicians or dental laboratory technicians to find the identical tooth mould to meet esthetic and functional demands. This case report describes a digital workflow to scan, design, and mill a well-fitting and esthetic denture tooth to expedite treatment, improve patient satisfaction, and increase troop readiness when traditional methods may not be feasible.

Atrial arrhythmias (AA) are common in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) and contribute to morbidity and mortality. Given the growing PH population, understanding the pathophysiology, clinical impact, and management of AA in PH is important. ⋯ This review highlights the epidemiology and pathophysiology of AA in patients with PH, describes the relationship between AA and RV dysfunction, and discusses current management practices. We outline our institutional approach and offer directions for future investigation.

General anesthetics adversely alters the distribution of infused fluid between the plasma compartment and the extravascular space. This maldistribution occurs largely from the effects of anesthetic agents on lymphatic pumping, which can be demonstrated by macroscopic fluid kinetics studies in awake versus anesthetized patients. ⋯ Anesthesia also blunts the transvascular refill response to bleeding, an important compensatory mechanism during hemorrhagic hypovolemia, in part through lymphatic inhibition. Last, this study addresses how catecholamines and hypertonic and hyperoncotic fluids may mobilize interstitial fluid to mitigate anesthesia-induced lymphatic dysfunction.
