Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a debilitating condition with profound implications on patients' quality of life. Recent advancements in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology have provided novel opportunities for individuals with paralysis due to SCI. Consequently, research on the application of BCI for treating SCI has received increasing attention from scholars worldwide. However, there is a lack of rigorous bibliometric studies on the evolution and trends in this field. Hence, the present study aimed to use bibliometric methods to investigate the current status and emerging trends in the field of applying BCI for treating SCI and thus identify novel therapeutic options for SCI. ⋯ In recent years, there has been a steep increase in research on the use of BCI for treating SCI. Existing research focuses on the application of BCI for improving rehabilitation and quality of life of patients with SCI. Interdisciplinary collaboration is the current trend in this field.

Hydrocephalus ranks among the most prevalent neurosurgical conditions worldwide, with a growing body of literature suggesting a potential association with inflammation. Employing bibliometric methods, this research visually analyzes the scholarly output on inflammation in hydrocephalus over the past 2 decades and provides a scientific framework for delineating research pathways and addressing key issues in this field. ⋯ This study will help researchers determine the mainstream research directions and latest hotspots of inflammation in hydrocephalus and provide a reference for revealing the molecular mechanism of hydrocephalus.

International publication activity in orthopaedic surgery over a ten-year interval.
International English language publication activities in orthopaedic surgery comparing the years 2008/09 to 2018/19 were analyzed. ⋯ International publishing activity in orthopaedic surgery has increased substantially over the last 10 years. The quality of the published articles has not increased in the same way, as evidenced by the disproportionate rise in narrative reviews. Over the entire period, the US were the leader with respect to number of publications and CIF. In terms of population, however, smaller countries such as Switzerland and Sweden were much more active.

Middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAE) is an endovascular technique that has been rapidly adopted in the management of chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH), with numerous positive results across the literature. This study aimed to summarize the body of original research published on MMAE for the treatment of cSDH through bibliometric methods. ⋯ As the popularity of MMAE and power of studies related to the technique continues to rise, we hope that this analysis can continue to guide clinicians and researchers on growing areas of interest and academic hotspots of collaboration.

This bibliometric analysis aimed to map the knowledge network of laminoplasty research. ⋯ This study drew a knowledge map of the top countries, institutions, authors, publications, and journals on laminoplasty over the past 4 decades. The current and future hotspots of laminoplasty focus on sagittal balance, comparison between other surgery in outcomes and complication, and axial symptoms in laminoplasty.
