Postspinal anesthesia shivering in lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries: a randomized controlled comparison between paracetamol and dexamethasone.
Shivering is known to be a frequent complication in patients undergoing surgery under neuraxial anesthesia with incidence of 40-70%. Although many pharmacological agents have been used to treat or prevent postspinal anesthesia shivering (PSAS), the ideal treatment wasn't found. This study evaluated the efficacy of paracetamol and dexamethasone to prevent PSAS in patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries. ⋯ Paracetamol and dexamethasone were effective in prevention of PSAS in patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries compared to placebo controls.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparative evaluation of intravenous dexketoprofen and paracetamol in the management of pain induced by sore throat.
Sore throat is one of the most prevalent causes of emergency visits. The chief purpose of this clinical report is to investigate the effectiveness of intravenous (IV) dexketoprofen and paracetamol drugs relative to each other in relieving the pain induced by sore throat in emergency visits. ⋯ In emergency department, IV dexketoprofen and paracetamol reduced sore throat pain equally, providing similar analgesic efficacy.

Comparison of intravenous ibuprofen and paracetamol in the treatment of fever: A randomized double-blind study.
Fever is one of the frequent reasons for admission to the emergency department. Studies comparing oral forms of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and paracetamol with intravenous (IV) forms for fever are common in the literature. Our study is the first emergency department study comparing IV forms of ibuprofen and paracetamol in the treatment of febrile patients. ⋯ In adult age group patients admitted to the emergency department with high fever, the IV forms of 1000 mg paracetamol and 400 mg ibuprofen effectively and equally reduce complaints, such as fever and accompanying pain. They can be effectively used as each other's rescue medicine and as an alternative to each other in patients with comorbid diseases.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of Monotherapy Versus Combination of Intravenous Ibuprofen and Propacetamol (Acetaminophen) for Reduction of Postoperative Opioid Administration in Children Undergoing Laparoscopic Hernia Repair: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial.
Extensive efforts have been made toward reducing postoperative opioid use in children. In this study, we assessed whether propacetamol, or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), or their combination could effectively reduce opioid use in children after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. ⋯ The use of ibuprofen plus propacetamol immediately following laparoscopic hernia repair surgery in children resulted in the reduced use of an opioid drug compared with the use of propacetamol alone.
