Hydrocephalus frequently occurs with midline posterior fossa cystic collections. The classification of this heterogeneous group of developmental anomalies, including Dandy-Walker malformation, persisting Blake's pouch, retrocerebellar arachnoid cysts, and mega cisterna magna, is subject of debate. The absence of diagnostic criteria is confusing regarding the ideal management of PFCC-related hydrocephalus. ⋯ Preoperative MRI in patients with PFCC-related hydrocephalus is essential to better define the diagnosis. The choice of treatment strategy notably relies on correct radiological diagnosis.

Experiences of isolation in patients in the intensive care unit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, patients in the intensive care unit have been subjected to strict isolation precautions, and potentially long and complicated patient courses. The aim of the study is to provide an investigation of the experiences of isolation in COVID-19-positive patients in the ICU during the first phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark. ⋯ This study provided further insights into the liminal patient experiences of being isolated in the ICU due to COVID-19. Robust themes of experience were achieved through an in-depth phenomenological approach. Although, similarities in experiences compared to other patient groups exist, the precarious situation constituted by COVID-19 lead to significant intensifications across multiple parameters.

Epidural hematomas after appropriately performed cervicothoracic interlaminar epidural injections have been associated with the rapid onset of neurological symptoms and devastating outcomes, despite prompt identification and treatment. Anticoagulation issues were initially felt to be the problem, but the occurrence of fulminant hematomas in patients without coagulation forced a reassessment of the causes and responses to this problem. ⋯ Cervical epidural hematoma, cervical epidural injection, posterior intravertebral venous plexus, arterialized epidural veins, pressurized epidural veins.

Overdrainage is a widely reported complication representing common indication for shunt revision. Despite recent advances in valve design, repeated shunt revisions represent burden on healthcare systems. ⋯ The novel M.blue valve with integrated gravity unit is efficient in pediatric hydrocephalus with comparable survival rate. Deposits inside valves could affect its flow rate in different body positions and might lead to dysfunction or difficulties in valve adjustments.

To examine liver retransplantation (ReLT) over 35 years at a single center. ⋯ This represents the largest single-center ReLT report to date. Despite the increased acuity and complexity of ReLT patients, post-MELD era outcomes have improved. With careful patient selection, these results support the efficacy and survival benefit of ReLT in an acuity-based allocation environment.
