The aim of this study was to develop a tool to measure the family's difficulties in caring for cancer patients at the end of life at home: Family's Difficulty Scale in end-of-life home care (FDS). ⋯ The validity and reliability of this new instrument were confirmed. This scale should help home care providers to assess and focus on family difficulties and provide individualized care for the family who cares for a patient with terminal cancer at home.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyREMCARE: reminiscence groups for people with dementia and their family caregivers - effectiveness and cost-effectiveness pragmatic multicentre randomised trial.
The aim of the REMiniscence groups for people with dementia and their family CAREgivers (REMCARE) study was to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of joint reminiscence groups for people with dementia and their family caregivers as compared with usual care. ⋯ This trial does not provide support for the effectiveness or cost-effectiveness of joint reminiscence groups for people with dementia and their carers. Although there may be some beneficial effects for people with dementia who attend sessions as planned, this must be viewed in the context of raised anxiety and stress in their carers. The reasons for these discrepant outcomes need to be explored further, and may necessitate reappraisal of the movement towards joint interventions.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
A cluster randomized controlled trial of a structured training programme for caregivers of inpatients after stroke (TRACS).
The majority of stroke patients are discharged home dependent on informal caregivers, usually family members, to provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting. Many caregivers feel unprepared for this role, and this may have a detrimental effect on both the patient and caregiver. ⋯ The primary outcomes are extended activities of daily living for the patient and caregiver burden measured at six-months after recruitment. Secondary outcomes include mood and cost-effectiveness, with final follow-up at 12 months.

Multicenter StudyIntrajejunal levodopa infusion in advanced Parkinson's disease: long-term effects on motor and non-motor symptoms and impact on patient's and caregiver's quality of life.
Continuous infusion of intrajejunal levodopa/carbidopa gel (CIILG) for advanced Parkinson's disease (PD) has been proved to be beneficial on motor complications, non-motor symptoms and quality of life in the short-term follow-up. Aim of this two-center, retrospective, open-label study was to evaluate the long-term effect of CIILG on patients' condition and caregivers' quality of life. ⋯ CIILG is an effective treatment option for patients with advanced PD over the long-term period as it may improve both the motor complications and the psychiatric side effects caused by other dopaminergic therapies.
