Background: Family caregivers are central to the delivery of serious illness care and also have needs related to their role and experience. One aspect of the family caregiver quality of life (QOL) that has received less attention is caregiver spirituality. Objectives: The research objectives for this analysis were (1) Describe spirituality in oncology family caregivers. (2) Determine the impact of palliative care interventions on spirituality and related variables in oncology family caregivers. (3) Describe findings from the research literature related to spirituality in family caregivers. ⋯ Living with uncertainty was consistently reported as the worst aspect of QOL/spirituality. Having a sense of purpose and meaning was the highest rated area. Conclusions: The authors' research synthesis and the literature support the importance of additional research and clinical focus in family caregiver spirituality in serious illness care.

Limited data exist regarding recovery from surgery from the adolescent's perspective, or data regarding concordance between adolescent and caregiver symptom reports preventing appreciation of adolescent needs and hindering the provision of appropriate care. ⋯ Adolescents may experience significant physical symptoms, such as pain and fatigue, even after minor surgeries. Fatigue symptoms may be unrelated to pain or sleep. Caregiver report of adolescent psychological symptoms may be necessary to gain a complete understanding of those symptoms in this population.

Caregiver Accompaniment in Pediatric Critical Care Transport: A Systematic Scoping Review.
Family-centered care is a critical component of critical care interfacility and medical retrieval transport (MRT) services. These services provide a critical bridge for a physiologically and psychologically unique population often best served in specialized, tertiary centers. Caregivers often wish to accompany patients during MRT. However, there is currently little research on the impact of caregiver accompaniment on MRT. ⋯ Caregivers and healthcare providers largely prefer caregiver accompaniment on MRT services. There is little data on patient perspectives and transport-related adverse events affecting patient outcomes.

Feasibility and acceptability of the brief patient-reported experience measure consideRATE within the hospital setting for patients with palliative care needs, their families/carers and clinicians.
Supporting clinical teams to improve care for inpatients with palliative care needs and their carers is a known priority. Patient reported experience measures (PREMs) may assist in improvement work. Evidence about how to collect and feedback PREM data for this population and context is required. ⋯ It is feasible to implement consideRATE for inpatients with palliative care needs. Clinicians note consideRATE data is acceptable in informing improvement foci.

Association of Informal Caregiving and Menopause Symptoms in Midlife Women: A Cross-Sectional Study.
To assess the association between caregiving and menopause symptom burden in midlife women. ⋯ This study identified a positive association between caregiving hours and menopause symptom burden. Given the aging US population and likely resultant increases in caregiving burden, there is a critical need to address menopause symptoms and to provide support for midlife women in caregiving roles.
