Control effect of virtual reality technology on procedural pain in children's wound: A meta-analysis.
Children who undergo wound manipulation usually experience pain. Virtual reality technology is a novel and effective non pharmaceutical therapy for reducing pain in children scheduled to undergo wound manipulation. However, the effectiveness of Virtual reality technology in controlling procedural pain in children's wounds has not been evaluated in a systematic review. ⋯ As a distraction method of non drug assisted analgesia intervention, virtual reality technology can reduce children's procedural pain and discomfort symptoms.

Patient Satisfaction With Spinal Cord Stimulation and Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation for Chronic Intractable Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
In the spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and dorsal root ganglion stimulation (DRG-S) literature, the typical primary outcome measure includes pain relief, whether numeric rating scale changes or percentage pain relief, and functional outcomes and patient satisfaction are included as secondary outcomes. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to determine the rate of patient satisfaction with the use of SCS and DRG-S in the treatment of chronic intractable pain. ⋯ Our results show high levels of patient satisfaction across the SCS and DRG-S literature when these treatment modalities are used for chronic intractable pain, regardless of SCS programming algorithm. However, there is a scarcity of unbiased and/or non-industry-funded prospective studies in the neuromodulation field, and future efforts to expand this area of the SCS and DRG-S literature are greatly needed.

Review Meta AnalysisIntraoperative Respiratory and Hemodynamic Strategies for Reducing Nausea, Vomiting, and Pain after Surgery: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Despite improved medical treatment strategies, postoperative pain, nausea, and vomiting remain major challenges. This systematic review investigated the relationship between perioperative respiratory and hemodynamic interventions and postoperative pain, nausea, and vomiting. ⋯ There is limited evidence regarding the impact of intraoperative respiratory and hemodynamic interventions on postoperative pain or nausea and vomiting. More definitive trials are needed to guide clinical care within this area.

The effect of lidocaine patch for postoperative pain: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The role of lidocaine patch (LP) in reducing postoperative pain by local anesthetic absorption has been evaluated in several studies; however, these trials have shown inconsistent results. This meta-analysis aimed to identify the benefits of LP, focusing on its pain-reducing and morphine-sparing effect in patients after surgery. ⋯ LP can lower postoperative pain without side effects, compared to placebo or no patch. However, its morphine-sparing effect remains unclear.
