Randomized Controlled Trial Pragmatic Clinical TrialPrevalence, Severity, and Co-Occurrence of SPPADE Symptoms in 31,866 Patients with Cancer.
To examine the prevalence, severity, and co-occurrence of SPPADE symptoms as well as their association with cancer type and patient characteristics. ⋯ The high prevalence and co-occurrence of SPPADE symptoms in patients with all types of cancer warrants clinical approaches that optimize detection and management.

Randomized Controlled TrialMassage Therapy for Hospitalized Patients Receiving Palliative Care: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Massage therapy is increasingly used in palliative settings to improve quality of life (QoL) and symptom burden; however, the optimal massage "dosage" remains unclear. ⋯ Massage therapy in complex patients with advanced illness was beneficial beyond dosage. Findings support session length (10 or 20 minutes) was predictive of short-term improvements while treatment frequency (once or three consecutive days) predicted sustained improvement at follow-up.

Sub-Anesthesia Dose of S-Ketamine Reduces Postoperative Pain and Anxiety in Patients Receiving Breast and Thyroid Surgery: A Randomized, Controlled Trial.
Postoperative pain and anxiety affect patients' recovery and increase the family burden. S-ketamine presents analgesic effects and anti-depressive effects in clinics. The effect of a sub-anesthesia dose of S-ketamine on postoperative pain and anxiety remains to be clarified. ⋯ Intraoperative sub-anesthesia dose of S-ketamine reduces postoperative pain and anxiety intensity. Anxiety before surgery is a risk factor, and S-ketamine and regular exercise are protective factors for postoperative pain. The study was registered at www.chictr.org.cn with the number: ChiCTR2200060928.

Ultrasound-Guided Techniques for Postoperative Analgesia in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy: Erector Spinae Plane Block vs. Quadratus Lumborum Block.
Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is a common bariatric surgery. Regional anesthetic techniques decrease postoperative pain, narcotic analgesic requirements, and opioid-related adverse effects in patients scheduled for bariatric surgery. ⋯ Bilateral ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block and bilateral ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum block provided adequate postoperative pain control and reduced postoperative analgesic requirements for morbidly obese patients scheduled for laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with priority to bilateral erector spinae plane block.

Effect of music listening on perioperative anxiety, acute pain and pain catastrophizing in women undergoing elective cesarean delivery: a randomized controlled trial.
Anxiety may adversely impact mother and her newborn. Music listening is a safe and efficacious treatment that may to reduce perioperative anxiety. The effect on acute pain and pain catastrophizing scores remains unclear. We aimed to determine whether perioperative music listening reduces anxiety, acute pain, and pain catastrophizing scale (PCS) scores following elective cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia. ⋯ Perioperative music listening was associated with reduced postoperative anxiety and lower pain catastrophizing. Based on the good patient satisfaction and positive feedback received, the use of music listening in the obstetric setting is recommended.
