Pelvic fractures are serious and oftentimes require immediate medical attention. Pelvic binders have become a critical tool in the management of pelvic injuries, especially in the prehospital setting. Proper application of the pelvic binder is essential to achieve the desired result. This study evaluates the effectiveness of prehospitally applied pelvic binders in improving outcomes for patients with pelvic fractures. ⋯ Our study found that prehospital pelvic binders did not significantly impact patient outcomes for unstable pelvic fractures, with injury severity score (ISS) being the strongest predictor of survival. Assessing injury severity and managing blood loss remain crucial for these patients. While pelvic binders may not impact survival significantly, they still play a role in stabilizing pelvic fractures and managing blood loss.

ReviewUse of INFIX for managing unstable anterior pelvic ring injuries: A systematic review.
Subcutaneous screw rod system which is popularly known as Pelvic internal fixator (INFIX) has emerged as an alternative to external fixators in management of unstable pelvic injuries. INFIX has shown various advantages over external fixation such as reduced infection rate and patient morbidity. However, it has its own set of complications such as lateral femoral cutaneous nerve injury, heterotopic ossification, femoral nerve palsy etc. We intended to conduct a systematic review of the current literature to assess outcomes and complications with INFIX technique of fixation. ⋯ This analysis supports the use of INFIX in management of unstable pelvis fractures where anterior fixation is required.

Unstable pelvic fractures frequently require emergency stabilization using a C-clamp or external (CC/EF) fixation. However, the effectiveness of this intervention and associated complications are still a matter of debate. ⋯ Primary stabilization of unstable pelvic fractures with C-clamp or external fixation is associated with a decreased mortality and was not an independent risk factor for complications after secondary surgery. However, the risk for infection after ilio-sacral screw fixation increased almost 5-fold after C-clamp use.

[Treatment of unstable pelvic fractures by cannulated screw internal fixation with the assistance of three-dimensional printing insertion template].
To evaluate the effectiveness of unstable pelvic fractures treated by cannulated screw internal fixation with the assistance of three-dimensional (3D) printing insertion template. ⋯ It has advantages of precise screw insertion and lower risk of neurovascular injury to treat unstable pelvic fractures by cannulated screw internal fixation with the assistance of 3D printing insertion template, which can be a good alternative for the treatment of unstable pelvic fractures.
