Prognostic nutritional index (PNI) could reflect the nutrition and inflammation status in cancer patients. This study aims to identify the prognostic significance of PNI in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). A total of 694 RCC patients from our institution were included in this study. ⋯ Furthermore, low PNI (<41-51) was also significantly associated with poor OS (HR = 1.78, 95%CI: 1.26-2.53 P < .05) and poor RFS (HR = 2.03, 95%CI: 1.40-2.95, P < .05) in advanced cases treated with targeted therapies. The present evidences show that PNI is an independent prognostic factor in RCC. Low PNI is significant associated with poor prognosis of RCC patients.

Maternal fever during preconception and conception is associated with congenital heart diseases in offspring: An updated meta-analysis of observational studies.
Many studies have evaluated the effect of maternal fever on the development risk of congenital heart diseases (CHDs) in offspring, but the findings were inconsistent. Furthermore, a complete overview of the existing data was also missing. Therefore, we intend to provide updated epidemiologic evidence to estimate the association between maternal fever and the risk of overall CHDs and specific CHD phenotypes in offspring. ⋯ Although the role of potential bias and evidence of heterogeneity should be carefully evaluated, our review indicates that maternal fever is significantly associated with the risk of CHDs in offspring, which highlights that preventing maternal fever during the preconception and conception periods play an important role in decreasing the risk of CHDs in offspring. However, given the limited number of current case-control studies, larger-sample prospective studies are required to further confirm our results. Besides, due to the underlying mechanisms between maternal fever and the risk of specific CHD phenotypes in offspring are still unreported, more research is needed to explore the possible mechanisms.

Effect of muscle training on dyspnea in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Rehabilitation training is beneficial for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This study was aimed at evaluating the efficacy of muscle training on dyspnea. ⋯ There were some limitations that most of the subjects in this study were patients with moderate to severe COPD and were male, and the training period and duration were different. The analyses revealed that respiratory muscle and UL trainings can improve dyspnea in patients with COPD during exercise and in daily life.

Essential hypertension is the primary cause of death and disability and it has become a major public health problem globally. Yufeng Ningxin (YFNX) is a commonly used Chinese patent medicine in treating essential hypertension. The objective of this protocol is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of YFNX for the treatment of essential hypertension. ⋯ This systematic review will provide strong evidence to assess the effectiveness and safety of YFNX in the treatment of essential hypertension.

Sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) may hinder embryonic development and growth, increasing the risk of spontaneous miscarriage, and is considered an important factor affecting male infertility (MI). Traditional Chinese herbal medicine is considered effective in the treatment of MI due to SDF by nourishing kidney essence or promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis. The objective of this systematic review protocol is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese herbal medicine on the treatment of MI associated with SDF. ⋯ CRD42020221053.
