The effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine on suicidal behavior: A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis.
Suicide is the leading cause of death worldwide. Herbal medicine (HM) has been reported to be related to clinical improvement of some risk factors for suicide including depression. This systematic review aimed to comprehensively investigate the effectiveness and safety of HM on suicidal behaviors. ⋯ Though some of the studies reported significant benefits of HM in improving suicidal behavior in patients with depression, further clarification on some unsolved questions is needed in future well-designed clinical trials.

A low level of cardiorespiratory fitness [CRF; defined as peak oxygen uptake ([Formula: see text]O2peak) or peak power output (PPO)] is a widely reported consequence of spinal cord injury (SCI) and a major risk factor associated with chronic disease. However, CRF can be modified by exercise. This systematic review with meta-analysis and meta-regression aimed to assess whether certain SCI characteristics and/or specific exercise considerations are moderators of changes in CRF. ⋯ PROSPERO: CRD42018104342.

Vitiligo is an acquired chronic depigmentary disorder affecting approximately 0.5% to 1% of individuals worldwide. The compound glycyrrhizin (CG), a complementary medicine, has been reported for treatment of vitiligo, but the evidence has not been systematically evaluated. We systematically assessed the efficacy and safety of CG in combination with conventional therapy for the treatment of vitiligo. ⋯ CG as a complementary medicine has a potential benefit in treatment of vitiligo. However, since the methodological flaws in the studies we included, more high-quality randomized controlled trials are warranted.

Efficacy of immune nutrients in severe acute pancreatitis: A network meta-analysis.
The use of immune nutrients in the treatment of severe pancreatitis remains controversial. No study has yet compared the effects of different immune nutrients on patients with severe acute pancreatitis. This study aimed to compare the effects of different immune nutrients in treating severe acute pancreatitis through a network meta-analysis. ⋯ Some immune nutrients were beneficial for patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Parenteral administration could be better than enteral administration.

Zavegepant nasal spray is a novel CGRP receptor antagonist that has been developed for the acute treatment of migraine - a prevalent disease leading to disability and economic burden. The meta-analysis aims to quantify the efficacy of Zavegepant compared to standard care or placebo in achieving pain freedom, freedom from most bothersome symptoms (MBS), sustained pain freedom, and pain relapse at 2 to 48 hours. ⋯ This meta-analysis confirms the effectiveness of Zavegepant nasal spray in treating acute migraine, with significant improvements in pain and symptom relief. Further research is needed to determine the effect on pain relapse and overall safety.
