Most pathology of the thymus gland warrant its surgical removal; and this requires significant expertise and adequate medical set-up. This study aimed to audit the results of thymectomies performed in a specialised tertiary level centre in a resource-poor country. The outcomes of open and minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) thymectomies were also compared. ⋯ No significant differences were found in mean operative times and overall survival between groups. In selected cases, thymectomy via VATS is safer and comparable to open thymectomy in terms of operative safety and oncological completeness. Key Words: Thymus, VATS, Thymectomy, Outcome.

Consent rates for organ donation remain one of the most important factors determining the number of organs available for transplantation. Trauma casualties constitute a substantial part of the deceased organ donor pool and have unique characteristics that distinguish them from the general donor population. However, this group has not been extensively studied. ⋯ Only a small group of in hospital trauma deaths were potential solid organ donors (13.7%) and less than half of these became actual donors. Consent rates were higher when the deceased was female or Jewish.

Background All medical graduates must know how to stabilize and manage critically ill patients. A 2-day intensive course, called the acute critical care course (ACCC), was conducted to train interns in technical and non-technical skills for managing a patient whose condition is deteriorating. This analysis aims to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of ACCC for interns. ⋯ Few suggestions to improve the course were provided. Conclusions Implementing the ACCC needed simulation, interactive discussions, role-play, modified Pendleton's feedback, and reflective exercise that form the basis of a range of educational principles. The blended learning set of objectives of ACCC were the pillars for this successful internship training programme.

Predictive Significance of Ki-67 and Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio in Patients with Gastric Cancer Receiving Neoadjuvant FLOT Chemotherapy.
We aimed to determine the predictive significance of Ki-67 and platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in patients with gastric cancer (GC), who received fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, docetaxel (FLOT) as neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). ⋯ Ki-67 and PLR have predictive significance in GC patients treated with neoadjuvant FLOT. Ki-67 is an independent prognostic marker for OS in gastric cancer. Key Words: FLOT, Gastric cancer, Ki-67, Platelet lymphocyte ratio.

The attainment of universal health coverage (UHC) is incomplete without achieving respectful maternity care (RMC). While planning for UHC, the need and importance of RMC should be considered. In India, the government has started a health scheme on UHC, namely the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. RMC being an important component of UHC, if not achieved, will result in failure to achieve UHC in the true sense.
