This study investigated the feasibility of using immunohistochemistry (IHC) instead of PCR to detect BRAF V600E mutant protein in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), and to determine the value of using preoperative BRAF V600E mutant protein by IHC to assist in the diagnosis of thyroid nodule patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). The expression of BRAFV600E mutant protein was measured in 23 cases of HT+PTC, 31 cases of PTC, and 28 cases of HT by IHC, followed by PCR in the same samples for validation. SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis. ⋯ IHC can be used as a preliminary screening method to detect BRAF V600E mutation. The strongly positive (+++) staining of IHC potently indicated BRAF V600E gene mutation. For suspicious thyroid nodules combined with HT, the detection of BRAF V600E mutant protein with IHC alone is not of great significance for differentiating benign and malignant nodules.

To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine preparation XPYEG combined with SBI and SBI alone in the treatment of REC, and to provide the reference in drugs for the clinical treatment of children with rotavirus enteritis. ⋯ This study does not involve the specific patients, and all research data comes from publicly available professional literature, so an ethics committee is not required to conduct an ethical review and approval of the study.

Lumbar herniated intervertebral disc (LHIVD) is a common disease that causes low back pain. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with conservative conventional treatment is known to be effective at treating LHIVD, but evidence for complex TCM therapies with conventional intervention has not been sufficiently collected to facilitate quality assessment and synthesis of data. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/K7NJ8 (https://osf.io/k7nj8).

In recent years, more and more reports are focused on the application of traditional Chinese medicine injection (TCMJ) for the treatment of viral pneumonia. There are about 200 million cases of viral pneumonia worldwide every year, half of which are children. At present, many kinds of TCMJ are created for the treatment of viral pneumonia in children, with good therapeutic effects. However, there are many kinds of TCMJ, and the treatment advantages are different, thus bringing difficulties to the selection of clinical drugs. In order to provide evidence-based evidence support for the clinical selection of TCMJ for the treatment of viral pneumonia in children, this study selected the commonly used TCMJ for clinical treatment of viral pneumonia for meta-analysis to evaluate its efficacy. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/795MB.

The aim of the current study was to explore the value of tumor attenuation and quantitative analysis of perfusion parameters obtained from traditional tri-phasic CT scans in grading hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Totally 39 patients (42 lesion samples) with pathologically confirmed HCC who underwent tri-phasic CT scans were enrolled. HCC lesions were divided into non-poorly differentiated HCC (NP-HCC; n = 31) and poorly differentiated HCC (pHCC; n = 11). ⋯ TAe-TAp had the highest area under the curve. The number of tumor enhancement pattern in Group 5 of HCCs with a diameter of 3 cm or more was significantly more than that of HCCs with a diameter of less than 3 cm or with other different enhancement patterns (P < .01). Histological HCC grading cannot be predicted by the perfusion parameters derived from traditional tri-phasic CT scans, whereas the tumor attenuation on different phases and the tumor attenuation differences among different phases, especially the mean value of TAe-TAp, might be useful for non-invasive prediction on the degree of HCC differentiation.
