The intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) risk of oral anticoagulants/non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) remains largely unknown. Patients who need oral anticoagulants such as aspirin or warfarin often suffer from obvious complications. ⋯ Warfarin significantly increased the risk of ICH in patients taking oral anticoagulants compared with 4 NOACs (dabigatran, edoxaban, apixaban, rivaroxaban) and aspirin. Apixaban is least likely to induce all-cause mortality.

Internet addiction (IA) has become a global problem characterized by excessive use of the internet, compulsive, and deleterious personal behaviors. Acupuncture has gained more and more attention in the treatment of IA. However, evidence of its effectiveness is lacking. The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of IA. ⋯ This systematic review provides evidence for the efficacy of acupuncture in treating IA disorder, and it is of great significance for effective clinical routine treatment of IA.

Pathogenic variants of PROC gene caused type II activity deficiency in a Chinese family: A case report.
Hereditary Protein C (PC) deficiency is a rare genetic disorder caused by PROC gene mutation. In this article, we report a case of PC deficiency in a Chinese family due to a novel PROC gene mutation. ⋯ We identified a novel missense mutation in the PROC gene in a Chinese family which caused a decrease in the PC antigen level and recurrent cerebral infarction.

Sofosbuvir-based therapies associated with regression of liver fibrosis in patients with hepatitis C virus infection: A prospective observational study.
Oral direct-acting antiviral (DAA) treatment leads to >95% sustained virological response (SVR) and could be clinically useful in regression of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. We evaluated if ledipasvir/sofosbuvir or sofosbuvir + ribavirin is associated with regression of fibrosis in HCV patients who achieved SVR. In this prospective cohort study performed at 3 sites in Japan, patients with genotype 1 and genotype 2 were given standard treatment of ledipasvir 90 mg/sofosbuvir 400 mg and sofosbuvir 400 mg + 200-1000 mg/day ribavirin, respectively, for 12 weeks. ⋯ Forty-three patients showed a significant decrease in Fib-4 index (-1.2, P < .0001), and 44 patients showed improvement in LSM (-5.9 kPa, P < .0001). Achievement of SVR after antiviral therapy was associated with fibrosis regression. M2BPGi correlated well with LSM at week 48 after treatment initiation, supporting the sustainable benefit of HCV therapy.

Role of tocilizumab for concomitant systemic fungal infection in severe COVID-19 patient: Case report.
Bacterial and fungal infections in Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) patients have been inadequately investigated and reported thus far. The safety profile of tocilizumab (TCZ) administration in candidemia patient still debatable. ⋯ This case underscores the safety profile of giving TCZ in candidemia as a secondary infection in severe COVID-19 patient.
