To assess the prevalence of anabolic steroid use and the level of knowledge on anabolic steroids among the male athletes in Al Madina Al Munawara, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ One-third of the male athletes surveyed used anabolic steroids, influenced by accessibility and social contact, rather than healthcare guidance. This highlights the need for greater awareness of the long-term health risks, ideally through education provided by sports medicine specialists.

To understand the correlation between oxycodone concentration and drug liking response for immediate-release formulations as they relate to different doses and different routes of administration following manipulation involved in opioid misuse and nontherapeutic use. ⋯ Results indicate that oxycodone concentration-response and duration of drug liking following manipulation via different routes of administration may be an approach for further exploring drug liking effects of opioids.

Prescription opioid misuse is an ongoing epidemic in the United States. Though the number of people misusing prescription opioids is declining, the prevalence of abuse and dependence remains stable. This highlights the need to identify and intervene in factors leading to the escalation of prescription opioid misuse. ⋯ Study results suggest the importance of the frequency of prescription opioid misuse as a possible risk factor for dependence and emphasize the need to monitor for misuse even in instances of acute pain.
