Fasting blood glucose was linearly associated with colorectal cancer risk in the population without self-reported diabetes mellitus history.
Fasting plasma glucose level was linearly associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) risk. However, the dose-response relationship between fasting blood glucose (FBG) and CRC risk was still uncertain. A total of 11,632 patients without self-reported diabetes mellitus and colorectal polyps' history were identified in the Korean Multicenter Cancer Cohort (1993-2005). ⋯ Besides, HR was 1.09 (95% CI: 1.02, 1.16) for the CRC risk. In the population without self-reported diabetes mellitus and colorectal polyps' history. FBG was linearly associated with CRC risk, especially for FBG over 126 mg/dL.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of Prophylactic Dextrose Gel on Continuous Measures of Neonatal Glycemia: Secondary Analysis of the Pre-hPOD Trial.
To determine the effects of different doses of prophylactic dextrose gel on glycemic stability assessed using continuous glucose monitoring in the first 48 hours when given to babies at risk of neonatal hypoglycemia. ⋯ Low glucose concentrations were common in infants at risk of hypoglycemia despite blood glucose monitoring and treatment. Prophylactic dextrose gel reduced the risk of hypoglycemia without adverse effects on glucose stability.

Geographic Variation in Cardiovascular Health Among American Adults.
To evaluate the contemporary geographic trends in cardiovascular health in the United States and its relationship with geographic distribution of cardiovascular mortality. ⋯ Despite a modest improvement in CVHI, only 1 in 6 Americans has ideal cardiovascular health with significant geographic differences. These differences correlate with the geographic distribution of cardiovascular mortality. An urgent unmet need exists to mitigate the geographic disparities in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.

Effect of Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Glycemic Control in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Treated With Basal Insulin: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has been shown to be beneficial for adults with type 2 diabetes using intensive insulin therapy, but its use in type 2 diabetes treated with basal insulin without prandial insulin has not been well studied. ⋯ Among adults with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes treated with basal insulin without prandial insulin, continuous glucose monitoring, as compared with blood glucose meter monitoring, resulted in significantly lower HbA1c levels at 8 months.
