Fasting blood glucose was linearly associated with colorectal cancer risk in the population without self-reported diabetes mellitus history.
Fasting plasma glucose level was linearly associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) risk. However, the dose-response relationship between fasting blood glucose (FBG) and CRC risk was still uncertain. A total of 11,632 patients without self-reported diabetes mellitus and colorectal polyps' history were identified in the Korean Multicenter Cancer Cohort (1993-2005). ⋯ Besides, HR was 1.09 (95% CI: 1.02, 1.16) for the CRC risk. In the population without self-reported diabetes mellitus and colorectal polyps' history. FBG was linearly associated with CRC risk, especially for FBG over 126 mg/dL.

Effect of Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Glycemic Control in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Treated With Basal Insulin: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has been shown to be beneficial for adults with type 2 diabetes using intensive insulin therapy, but its use in type 2 diabetes treated with basal insulin without prandial insulin has not been well studied. ⋯ Among adults with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes treated with basal insulin without prandial insulin, continuous glucose monitoring, as compared with blood glucose meter monitoring, resulted in significantly lower HbA1c levels at 8 months.

Effect of Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Hypoglycemia in Older Adults With Type 1 Diabetes: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) provides real-time assessment of glucose levels and may be beneficial in reducing hypoglycemia in older adults with type 1 diabetes. ⋯ Among adults aged 60 years or older with type 1 diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring compared with standard blood glucose monitoring resulted in a small but statistically significant improvement in hypoglycemia over 6 months. Further research is needed to understand the long-term clinical benefit.

Lower versus Traditional Treatment Threshold for Neonatal Hypoglycemia.
Worldwide, many newborns who are preterm, small or large for gestational age, or born to mothers with diabetes are screened for hypoglycemia, with a goal of preventing brain injury. However, there is no consensus on a treatment threshold that is safe but also avoids overtreatment. ⋯ In otherwise healthy newborns with asymptomatic moderate hypoglycemia, a lower glucose treatment threshold (36 mg per deciliter) was noninferior to a traditional threshold (47 mg per deciliter) with regard to psychomotor development at 18 months. A community-based study of the relationship between calcaneal bone mineral density and systemic parameters of blood glucose and lipids.
Osteoporosis (OP) is a disease characterized by decreased bone mineral density (BMD) and an increased risk of osteoporotic fractures. Nutritional factors (including glucose and fats lipids), have been implicated in OP. We hypothesized that the levels of blood glucose and lipids could be biomarkers for predicting the risk of OP. ⋯ Moreover, logistic analysis showed that BMD was correlated with TC in premenopausal females and HbA1C in postmenopausal females. OP is generally associated with abnormal levels of blood glucose and/or lipids; nevertheless, the relationship between OP and abnormal levels of blood glucose and/or lipids is complicate and different subpopulations may have different susceptibilities. Therefore, further detailed studies are warranted.
