Although trauma is a leading cause of pediatric mortality and morbidity in Sweden, few studies have examined the outcome of pediatric trauma. ⋯ Many injuries were minor and half of the children were discharged home from the emergency department.Head injurieswere themost common injury in all age groups. The most severe head injuries were seen in the youngest group and were caused by falls. Trauma team activation criteria should be improved to avoid overutilization. The quality and completeness of data in the trauma registry must be enhanced.

Impact of early enteral nutrition on in-hospital mortality in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.
We conducted this study to evaluate the clinical impact of early enteral nutrition (EN) on in-hospital mortality and outcome in patients with critical hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). ⋯ These findings indicate that early EN is an important predictor of outcome in patients with critical hypertensive ICH.

The quality and quantity of individuals' social relationships has been linked not only to mental health but also to both morbidity and mortality. ⋯ The influence of social relationships on risk for mortality is comparable with well-established risk factors for mortality.
