[Significance of arginase-1, glypican-3, hepatocyte paraffin antigen 1 and alpha-fetoprotein in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of liver tumors].
To study the expression of arginase-1 (Arg-1), glypican-3 (GPC3), hepatocyte paraffin antigen 1 (HepPar-1) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), benign liver lesions (BLL) and metastatic carcinoma (MC), and their applications in diagnosis and differential diagnosis. ⋯ Arg-1 is a sensitive hepatocellular marker in delineation of liver lesions.GPC3 is a relatively specific marker in diagnosis of HCC.

Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted MR imaging of hepatocellular carcinoma: correlation with enhancement degree and histologic grade.
To compare the association of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM)-derived parameters and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) with the histologic grade of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and evaluate the relationship between IVIM-derived parameters and arterial enhancement degree. ⋯ IVIM-derived D values of HCC showed significantly better diagnostic performance than ADC values in differentiating high-grade HCC from low-grade HCC, and significant correlation was observed between f and the percentage of arterial enhancement.

Golgi protein 73, not Glypican-3, may be a tumor marker complementary to α-Fetoprotein for hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis.
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of serum Golgi protein 73 (GP73) and Glypican-3 (GPC-3) as tumor markers for diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). ⋯ Serum GP73 is a potential tumor marker for HCC diagnosis, especially for differential diagnosis of small HCC and cirrhosis. The combination of GP73 and AFP is more sensitive than AFP alone. Serum GPC-3 does not appear to be an effective tumor marker for HCC diagnosis.

Clinicopathological significance of the peritumoral decreased uptake area of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid in hepatocellular carcinoma.
A faint hypointensity in the noncancerous tissue around hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the hepatobiliary phase of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is encountered. The goal is to elucidate the significance of this type of pseudolesion designated as the peritumoral decreased uptake area of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA) (PDUAE). ⋯ By using this indicator, "microscopic" vascular invasion of HCC can be easily predicted with Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI.

Prognostic impact of spontaneous tumor rupture in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma: an analysis of 1160 cases from a nationwide survey.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the background characteriscs of ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to clarify the true impact of tumor rupture on patient prognosis in a large patient cohort. ⋯ The present study suggested that tumor rupture itself had a negative impact on patient survival. However, its impact was not strong enough to cancel the effects of the other tumor-related parameters. Therefore, it may be appropriate to give additional stages to the baseline tumor staging in cases of ruptured HCC.
