Quality reporting contributes to effective translation of health research in practice and policy. As an initial step in the development of a reporting guideline for scaling, the Standards for reporting stUdies of sCaling evidenCEd-informED interventions (SUCCEED), we performed a systematic review to identify relevant guidelines and compile a list of potential items. ⋯ Relevant items identified could inform the development of a reporting guideline for scaling studies of evidence-based health interventions. This and our assessment of guidelines could contribute to better reporting in the science and practice of scaling.

Myelin plays a pivotal role in the efficient transmission of nerve impulses. Disruptions in myelin integrity are associated with numerous neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis. In the central nervous system (CNS), myelin is formed by oligodendrocytes. ⋯ This review highlights the potential therapeutic significance of neuroactive steroids in myelin-related health and diseases. We review the synthesis of steroids by neurons and glial cells and discuss the roles of neuroactive steroids on myelin structure and function in health and disease. We emphasize the potential pro-myelinating effects of the varying levels of neuroactive steroids during different female physiological states such as the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, lactation, and post-menopause.

Review Meta AnalysisErector spinae plane block for postoperative pain.
Acute and chronic postoperative pain are important healthcare problems, which can be treated with a combination of opioids and regional anaesthesia. The erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a new regional anaesthesia technique, which might be able to reduce opioid consumption and related side effects. ⋯ ESPB in addition to standard care probably does not improve postoperative pain intensity 24 hours after surgery compared to no block. The number of block-related adverse events following ESPB was low. Further research is required to study the possibility of extending the duration of analgesia. We identified 37 new studies in the updated search and there are three ongoing studies, suggesting possible changes to the effect estimates and the certainty of the evidence in the future.

Sickle cell anemia (SCA) is a hereditary blood disorder characterized by abnormal hemoglobin, causing red blood cells to assume a sickle shape, leading to various complications. Climate change has emerged as a significant global challenge, influencing environmental conditions worldwide. This paper explores the implications of climatic variations on the prevalence, management, and outcomes of SCA. ⋯ To mitigate the implications of climatic change on SCA, interdisciplinary strategies are essential. These strategies may include enhancing healthcare systems' resilience to climate-related disruptions, implementing adaptive measures to address changing environmental conditions, and promoting public awareness and education on managing SCA amidst climate variability. In conclusion, climatic variations pose significant challenges for individuals with SCA, affecting the prevalence, management, and outcomes of the disease.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a significant global health concern, as characterized by its high mortality rate ranking second among all the leading causes of death. The liver serves as the primary site of CRC metastasis, and the occurrence of liver metastasis is a significant contributor to mortality among patients diagnosed with CRC. The survival rate of patients with colorectal liver metastasis has significantly increased with the advancement of comprehensive tumor therapy. ⋯ The issue of surgical margins plays a crucial role in this regard. In this review, we begin by examining the occurrence of positive surgical margins in liver metastases of patients diagnosed with CRC. We aim to define positive margins in hepatic surgery, examine the relationship between margins and prognosis and establish a foundation for future research in this field.
