Randomized Controlled TrialCarbetocin versus oxytocin for prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after vaginal delivery in high risk women.
To compare effectiveness and tolerability of carbetocin versus oxytocin in prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after vaginal delivery. ⋯ Carbitocin is a better alternative to traditional oxytocin in prevention of PPH after vaginal delivery with minimal hemodynamic changes and similar side effects.

Randomized Controlled TrialIs low-dose aspirin therapy to prevent preeclampsia more efficacious in non-obese women or when initiated early in pregnancy?
Late timing of intervention and maternal obesity are potential explanations for the modest effect of aspirin for preeclampsia prevention. We explored whether low-dose aspirin (LDA) is more effective in women at increased risk when initiated before 16 weeks' gestation or given to non-obese women. ⋯ LDA for preeclampsia prevention was not more effective when initiated < 16 weeks or used in non-obese women at risk for preeclampsia. No particular subgroup of women was more or less likely to benefit from LDA therapy.

Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of tranexamic acid in decreasing blood loss in elective caesarean delivery.
To evaluate the efficacy of tranexamic acid (TA) in decreasing blood loss during and after elective caesarean section (CS). ⋯ TA reduces blood loss during and immediately after CS. Its use in caesarean delivery may be considered especially in cases where blood loss is expected to be high or in anemic patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe favorable effects of garlic intake on metabolic profiles, hs-CRP, biomarkers of oxidative stress and pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women at risk for pre-eclampsia: randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
This study was performed to determine the favorable effects of garlic on metabolic status and pregnancy outcomes among pregnant women at risk for pre-eclampsia. ⋯ Consumption of garlic for 9 weeks among pregnant women at risk for pre-eclampsia led to decreased hs-CRP and increased GSH, but did not affect lipid profiles, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and pregnancy outcomes.

Randomized Controlled TrialTranscutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for pain control after vaginal delivery and cesarean section.
The present study aims to determine the efficiency and reliability of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) in the management of pain related with uterine contractions after vaginal delivery and the pain related with both abdominal incision uterine contractions after cesarean section. ⋯ TENS is an effective, reliable, practical and easily available modality of treatment for postpartum pain.
