Love in the Time of COVID-19: Sexual Function and Quality of Life Analysis During the Social Distancing Measures in a Group of Italian Reproductive-Age Women.
The beginning of 2020 was characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic. The world governments have adopted restrictive measures to reduce the spread of infection. These measures could affect the sexual function and quality of life of women living with their partner. ⋯ The COVID-19 epidemic and the restrictive social distancing measures have negatively influenced the sexual function and quality of life in not-infected reproductive-age women who live with their sexual partners. The Bilateral Pedicled Epilated Scrotal Flap: A Powerful Adjunctive for Creation of More Neovaginal Depth in Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty.
Penile inversion vaginoplasty is a commonly performed genital gender-affirming procedure in transgender women. The creation of an adequate functional neovaginal depth in cases of too little usable penile skin is a challenge. The bilateral pedicled epilated scrotal flap (BPES-flap) can be used as an easy adjunctive technique and may serve as a tool in the surgical armamentarium of the gender surgeon. ⋯ The BPES-flap is a vascularized scrotal flap that can be raised on the bilateral inferior superficial perineal arteries. It may be used for neovaginal depth creation during vaginoplasty and may be quicker to perform than full-thickness skin grafting. Nijhuis THJ, Özer M, van der Sluis WB, et al. The Bilateral Pedicled Epilated Scrotal Flap: A Powerful Adjunctive for Creation of More Neovaginal Depth in Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty. J Sex Med 2020;17:1033-1040.

A Multi-institutional Assessment of Multimodal Analgesia in Penile Implant Recipients Demonstrates Dramatic Reduction in Pain Scores and Narcotic Usage.
Despite the pain associated with inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) implantation, there has been a lack of standardized, nonopioid pain control regimens described to date. ⋯ The use of a MMA protocol significantly reduces postoperative pain measures in penile implant recipients and further reduces both inpatient and outpatient narcotic usage without any discernable side effects. Epidemiology of Penile Fractures in United States Emergency Departments: Access to Care Disparities May Lead to Suboptimal Outcomes.
The epidemiology of penile fractures in the emergency setting is not well described. ⋯ This large retrospective study of penile fractures in the US ED setting demonstrates a stable incidence of penile fractures presenting to the US emergency departments. A quarter of patients undergo immediate surgical repair, 10% are transferred to other institutions and 63.9% of patients are discharged home. The high proportion of ED discharges may be due to access to health care disparities. Rodriguez D, Li K, Apoj M, et al. Epidemiology of Penile Fractures in United States Emergency Departments: Access to Care Disparities May Lead to Suboptimal Outcomes. J Sex Med 2019;16:248-256.

Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Efficacy, Safety Profile, and Patient-Reported Outcomes in Patients Receiving Subcutaneous Testosterone Pellets 900 mg for Treatment of Symptoms Associated With Androgen Deficiency.
Implantation of testosterone doses of at least 150 to 450 mg (ie, two to six pellets) is common clinical practice despite a lack of prospective data. ⋯ Implantation of 12 testosterone pellets (900 mg) was well tolerated and provided adequate and sustained serum testosterone concentrations. Additional randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm efficacy and safety findings. McMahon CG, Shusterman N, Cohen B. Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Efficacy, Safety Profile, and Patient-Reported Outcomes in Patients Receiving Subcutaneous Testosterone Pellets 900 mg for Treatment of Symptoms Associated With Androgen Deficiency.
