Multicenter StudyGlobal evaluation of echocardiography in patients with COVID-19.
To describe the cardiac abnormalities in patients with COVID-19 and identify the characteristics of patients who would benefit most from echocardiography. ⋯ In this global survey, cardiac abnormalities were observed in half of all COVID-19 patients undergoing echocardiography. Abnormalities were often unheralded or severe, and imaging changed management in one-third of patients.

Multicenter StudyPre-test probability prediction in patients with a low to intermediate probability of coronary artery disease: a prospective study with a fractional flow reserve endpoint.
European and North American guidelines currently recommend pre-test probability (PTP) stratification based on simple probability models in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). However, no unequivocal recommendation has yet been established. We aimed to compare the ability of risk factors and different PTP stratification models to predict haemodynamically obstructive CAD with fractional flow reserve (FFR) as reference in low to intermediate probability patients. ⋯ NCT02264717.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyDifferences in left ventricular remodelling in patients with aortic stenosis treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement with corevalve prostheses compared to surgery with porcine or bovine biological prostheses.
Patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) can be considered for treatment with either transcatheter (TAVR) or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). The purpose of this study was to compare left ventricular (LV) remodeling in patients with AS after treatment with TAVR or SAVR. ⋯ Patients undergoing SAVR had a larger LV mass regression at 1 year compared with patients undergoing TAVR, which may be due to increasing amounts of PVL and pacemakers in the TAVR group.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEchocardiographic predictors of atrial fibrillation in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
To determine if markers of diastolic dysfunction are associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) development among patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). ⋯ Diastolic parameters of left atrial function possibly are more important markers of AF risk than left atrial dilation in HFpEF.

Multicenter StudyPregnancy-associated spontaneous coronary artery dissection: insights from a case series of 13 patients.
We sought to present a series of 13 pregnancy-associated spontaneous coronary artery dissection (P-SCAD), their angiographic and multimodal imaging findings, acute phase treatment, and outcomes. ⋯ In these 13 cases of P-SCAD, clinical presentation commonly included acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock. Multivessel dissections and involvement of the left coronary artery and left main coronary artery were highly prevalent. Clinicians must be aware of angiographic appearances of P-SCAD for prompt diagnosis and management in these high-risk patients.
