Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyCoronary computed tomography angiography vs. myocardial single photon emission computed tomography in patients with intermediate risk chest pain: a randomized clinical trial for cost-effectiveness comparison based on real-world cost.
To compare the cost-effectiveness of coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) vs. myocardial single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in patients with stable intermediate risk chest pain. ⋯ CCTA is associated with fewer subsequent ICA with no difference in downstream outcome. CCTA may be more cost-effective than SPECT in Korean patients with stable, intermediate risk chest pain.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyDifferences in left ventricular remodelling in patients with aortic stenosis treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement with corevalve prostheses compared to surgery with porcine or bovine biological prostheses.
Patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) can be considered for treatment with either transcatheter (TAVR) or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). The purpose of this study was to compare left ventricular (LV) remodeling in patients with AS after treatment with TAVR or SAVR. ⋯ Patients undergoing SAVR had a larger LV mass regression at 1 year compared with patients undergoing TAVR, which may be due to increasing amounts of PVL and pacemakers in the TAVR group.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEchocardiographic predictors of atrial fibrillation in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
To determine if markers of diastolic dysfunction are associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) development among patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). ⋯ Diastolic parameters of left atrial function possibly are more important markers of AF risk than left atrial dilation in HFpEF.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyFeasibility and repeatability of optical coherence tomography measurements of pre-stent thrombus burden in patients with STEMI treated with primary PCI.
Intracoronary thrombus is disrupted by stent deployment and confounded by the development of intrastent plaque prolapse. This study aims at investigating the feasibility and repeatability of thrombus quantification prior to stent implantation using optical coherence tomography (OCT) in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. ⋯ Measurement of pre-stent TB by OCT during the PPCI of STEMI is feasible and highly repeatable. Pre-stent TB is only modestly correlated with post-stent ATB, which indicates that pre-stent measurements might be of additional value when assessing the TB in STEMI.
