Meta Analysis
The efficacy of gastric aspiration in reducing postoperative vomiting after oral and maxillofacial surgery: A meta-analysis.
Gastric aspiration is applied in oral and maxillofacial procedures to reduce postoperative vomiting (POV), yet its clinical benefit remains largely uncertain. Our study aimed to determine the role of gastric aspiration in the amelioration of POV by a meta-analysis. ⋯ Based on current evidence, gastric aspiration is not recommended for oral and maxillofacial surgery. Meanwhile, more large-scale high-quality RCTs are needed.

Meta Analysis
Molecular characterization of allergic constitution based on network pharmacology and multi-omics analysis methods.
The objective of this study was to identify critical pathways associated with allergic constitution. Shared genes among allergic rhinitis (AR), asthma (AA), and atopic dermatitis (AD) were extracted from the GWAS catalog. RNA-seq data of AR, AA, and AD from gene expression omnibus (GEO) database were preprocessed and subjected to differential gene expression analysis. ⋯ GSEA analysis using GMK intervention data identified 11 of 39 significant pathways as the final key pathways associated with the allergic constitution. Through multi-omics integrated pathway analysis, we identified 11 critical pathways of allergic constitution, including TH1 and TH2 cell differentiation, TLR cascade, and TH17 cell differentiation. Identifying these pathways suggests that the observed alterations at the pathway level may play significant roles in the molecular characteristics of the allergic constitution.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Effects of hip abductor with external rotator strengthening versus proprioceptive training on pain and functions in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome: A randomized controlled trial.
Strengthening the hip muscles, particularly the abductors and rotators, has been reported beneficial for treating Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Proprioceptive training (PT) is also shown to improve musculoskeletal pain and function in PFPS. The most appropriate treatment from these 2 is unclear. This study aimed to compare the effects of hip abductors and external rotator strengthening exercises along with conventional physical therapy (CPT) vs the proprioceptive training of the knee along with CPT in patients with PFPS. ⋯ The addition of hip abductor and external rotator strengthening exercises to a 4-week CPT program showed a more significant improvement in AKPS scores than the addition of proprioceptive training in patients with PFPS.

Fibro-adipose vascular anomaly (FAVA) is a rare and complex vascular malformation associated with persistent pain, limb contracture, and even restriction of activity. However, the pathophysiology of FAVA remains unclear. ⋯ There are several different treatment options for FAVA, including surgical resection, sclerotherapy, cryoablation, drug therapy, and physical therapy. This article reviews the clinical manifestations, pathological features, pathogenesis, and treatment methods of FAVA.

G-protein signaling regulator 16 (RGS16) has been confirmed that RGS16 is associated with cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, many studies have shown that RGS16 can be used as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. We used CiteSpace and VOS viewer software to perform a bibliometric analysis of 290 publications in the core collection of Web of Science. ⋯ The biological applications of RGS16 are currently a hot area of RGS16 research, including inflammation, cancer, ulcerative colitis, metabolic acidosis, platelet activation, and thrombosis. The current scientometrics study provides an overview of RGS16 research from 1995 to 2022. This study provides an overview of current and potential future research hotspots in the field of RGS16 and can be used as a resource for interested researchers.
