In 2 institutions exposure values were evaluated and compared with the 2010 updated diagnostic reference levels (DRL) and possibilities for decreasing the dose assessed. ⋯ ► Analysis of exposure values for high data volumes obtained from the Radiology Information System (RIS) is possible independent of weight. ► Summation of small groups of patients with different weights might result in high exposure values (DRL 70 kg). ► If high exposure values are observed in small groups of patients, individual analysis of examinations is mandatory. ► Active dose management can be obtained by an analysis of average exposure of all examinations obtained during a specific observation period. ► Potential for optimization of exposure values might be possible even they fall below DRL.

Peripheral vascular anomalies represent a rare disease with an underlying congenital mesenchymal and angiogenetic disorder. Vascular anomalies are subdivided into vascular tumors and vascular malformations. Both entities include characteristic features and flow dynamics. Symptoms can occur in infancy and adulthood. Vascular anomalies may be accompanied by characteristic clinical findings which facilitate disease classification. The role of periinterventional imaging is to confirm the clinically suspected diagnosis, taking into account the extent and location of the vascular anomaly for the purpose of treatment planning. ⋯ · Sadick M, Overhoff D, Baessler B et al. The interobserver-variability of radiological diagnosis of benign bone tumors (BBT) and tumor-like lesions (TLL) was examined in order to identify difficult-to-diagnose entities, to examine the frequency of advanced diagnostics and to describe the number of interdisciplinary tumor center diagnoses (IDT) in comparison with diagnoses upon referral (ED) and radiologists´ diagnoses (RD). ⋯ • Benign bone tumors (BBT) and tumor-like lesions (TLL) present a diagnostic challenge, while enchondroma, NOF, SBC and ABC were difficult to diagnose, and ganglia can be misinterpreted as a tumor• Additional imaging studies were required for diagnosis in 29 % and 21 % of cases for BBT and TLL, respectively, biopsies in 12 % of cases for BBT and 27 % for TLL• Sound diagnoses can be made through interdisciplinary case discussion, while reducing the risk of overtreatment Citation Format: • Scheitza P, Uhl M, Hauschild O et al.
