Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
[Diagnostic value of whole-body MRI and bone scintigraphy in the detection of osseous metastases in patients with breast cancer--A Prospective Double-Blinded Study at two Hospital Centers].
The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of whole-body MRI (WB-MRI) and bone scintigraphy (BS) for the screening of bone metastases for the first time in a large and homogeneous patient collective with breast cancer in a systematic and controlled study. ⋯ It could be demonstrated that WB-MRI is superior to BS for detecting bone metastases in breast cancer patients. These results should be considered for the next version of the S 3 guideline "Diagnosis, Therapy and Follow-Up of Breast Cancer".

To prospectively assess the accuracy of contrast-enhanced MR angiography of the aortoiliac arteries using the blood pool agent Vasovist compared to unenhanced time-of-flight MRA. Conventional digital subtraction angiography served as the standard of reference. ⋯ MR angiography using the blood pool agent Vasovist is a feasible and minimally invasive alternative to DSA and provides angiograms of the aortoiliac region with high sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical Trial
[Dynamic and static MRI using superparamagnetic MRI contrast medium Resovist for visualizing primary and secondary liver tumors].
To analyse characteristics of benign and malignant liver tumours in dynamic and static MR imaging with the superparamagnetic MR contrast medium Resovist. ⋯ Dynamic and static versus plain MR imaging of primary and secondary liver lesions is markedly improved by the superparamagnetic contrast material Resovist, especially in case of intravenous bolus application of this liver-specific contrast medium.
