Predictors of Superior Recovery Kinetics in Adult Cervical Deformity Correction: An Analysis Using a Novel Area Under the Curve Methodology.
Retrospective review of a prospective database. ⋯ Superior recovery kinetics following CD surgery was predicted with high accuracy using BL patient-reported (VAS EQ5D, swallow sleep, mJOA) and radiographic factors (PT, TK, T10-L2, T12-S1, L1-S1). Awareness of these factors can improve decision-making and reduce postoperative neck disability.Level of Evidence: 3.

Cervical Alignment Following Posterior Cervical Fusion Surgery: Cervical Pedicle Screw Versus Lateral Mass Screw Fixation.
Retrospective comparative study. ⋯ The present study is the first radiologic comparison of LMS and CPS fixation after posterior-only fusion surgery. CPS resulted in more reliable and well-preserved SA correction, whereas CL and SVA did not differ between the two groups over time due to loss of correction.Level of Evidence: 4.

A longitudinal panel study. ⋯ Previous LBP was associated with LBP 5 years later among survivors of the GEJE. Furthermore, the effect on subsequent LBP was stronger with a higher frequency of previous LBP episodes.Level of Evidence: 3.

Population-based cross-sectional study. ⋯ The results in this study suggest changes in muscle morphology in both NP cohorts. These results show some similarities with earlier findings in this research domain. Further studies based on controlled longitudinal designs are needed to facilitate data compilation, to draw stronger conclusions, and to integrate them into the treatment of patients with chronic NP.Level of Evidence: 4.

Do Markers of Inflammation and/or Muscle Regeneration in Lumbar Multifidus Muscle and Fat Differ between Individuals with Good or Poor Outcome Following Microdiscectomy for Lumbar Disc Herniation?
Observational study. ⋯ Results show a relationship between impaired muscle regeneration profile in multifidus muscle and poor outcome following microdiscectomy for LDH. Inflammatory dysregulation in subcutaneous fat overlying the back region might predict poor surgical outcome.Level of Evidence: 4.
