Cannabis Use is Associated with Higher Rates of Pseudarthrosis Following TLIF: A Multi-Institutional Matched-Cohort Study.
This was a retrospective cohort study. ⋯ After 1:1 exact matching to control for confounding variables, the findings of this study suggest that cannabis use is associated with higher rates of pseudarthrosis, as well as higher rates of all-cause surgical and all-cause medical complications. Further studies are needed to corroborate our findings.

Retrospective review. ⋯ Patients with metastatic spinal disease who underwent surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic had higher SINS, lower Tokuhashi scores and similar Skeletal Oncology Research Group scores compared to patients who underwent surgery before the pandemic. This suggests the pandemic has impacted the instability of disease at presentation in patients with spinal metastases, but has not impacted surgical prognosis, as there were no differences in Skeletal Oncology Research Group scores and the difference in Tokuhashi scores is most likely not clinically significant.

20-year Clinical Outcomes of Cervical Disc Arthroplasty: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial.
Prospective, randomized, controlled trial. ⋯ Both CDA and ACDF are effective in treating cervical radiculopathy with sustained improvement in NDI, VAS neck and VAS arm pain at 20 years. CDA demonstrates lower reoperation rates than ACDF. There were no failures of the arthroplasty device requiring reoperation at the index level. The symptomatic nonunion rate of ACDF was 4.2% at 20 years. Despite a higher reoperation rate in the CDA group versus ACDF group, there was no difference in the 20-year NDI, VAS Neck, and VAS arm pain scores.

Revision Free Loss of Sagittal Correction > 3 Years After Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery: Who and Why?
Multicenter retrospective cohort study. ⋯ Approximately, a quarter of revision-free patients lose an average of 10° of their 6-week correction by 3 years. Lordosis is lost proximally through the instrumentation ( i.e. tulip/shank angle shifts and/or rod bending). The use of supplemental rods and avoiding sagittal overcorrection may help mitigate this loss.

Systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ In summary, our meta-analysis suggests that LSSE can potentially improve disability, especially when used as a single treatment. LSSE appears more beneficial in reducing disability than alleviating pain. Future research on different patient groups is needed to understand comprehensively LSSE's effects on other musculoskeletal disorders.
