Multicenter Study Clinical TrialInterpretation of positron emission mammography and MRI by experienced breast imaging radiologists: performance and observer reproducibility.
In preparation for a multicenter trial of positron emission mammography (PEM) and MRI in women with newly diagnosed cancer, the two purposes of this study were to validate training of breast imagers in standardized interpretation of PEM and to validate performance of the same specialists interpreting MRI. ⋯ With minimal training, experienced breast imagers showed high performance in interpreting PEM images. Performance in MRI interpretation by the same observers validated expected clinical practice.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical TrialGadobenate dimeglumine and gadofosveset trisodium for MR angiography of the renal arteries: Multicenter intraindividual crossover comparison.
This prospective multicenter intraindividual crossover study was designed to compare gadobenate dimeglumine and gadofosveset trisodium at approved doses with respect to the image quality and diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced MR angiography (CE-MRA) in the detection of clinically relevant renal artery stenosis. ⋯ Better diagnostic performance and reader preference were found for gadobenate dimeglumine than gadofosveset in first-pass renal CE-MRA.

Multicenter Study Clinical TrialImpact of (18)F-FDG PET on treatment strategy and 3D radiotherapy planning in non-small cell lung cancer: A prospective multicenter study.
The purpose of our study was to quantify the impact of preradiotherapy (18)F-FDG PET when deciding whether radiotherapy should be curative or palliative in intent and defining its detailed planning in patients with non-small cell lung cancer referred for 3D conformal radical radiotherapy within a large prospective multicenter study. ⋯ Preradiotherapy FDG PET for non-small cell lung cancer patients referred for 3D conformal radiotherapy may lead to significant modification of treatment strategy and radiotherapy planning.

Multicenter StudyRadiofrequency ablation for the treatment of bone metastases from hepatocellular carcinoma.
The objective of our study was to retrospectively evaluate the clinical utility of bone radiofrequency ablation in patients with bone metastases from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). ⋯ Bone radiofrequency ablation is a safe, useful, and feasible therapeutic option for relieving pain in patients with HCC bone metastases. Prognostic factors reported herein can facilitate stratification of patients with HCC bone metastases.

Multicenter StudyNeuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy: diagnosis with high-resolution CT.
Neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy is a form of childhood interstitial lung disease originally reported as persistent tachypnea of infancy. Reports of small series of cases and anecdotal experience have suggested that this disorder may have a consistent CT pattern. The purpose of this study was to review the CT findings in children with neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy to determine the findings at high-resolution CT, the diagnostic accuracy of CT compared with biopsy, and interrater reliability. ⋯ Neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy can have a characteristic appearance on high-resolution CT scans, the imaging findings being useful in differentiating neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy from other types of childhood interstitial lung disease. The appearance aids radiologists in suggesting a specific diagnosis but does not exclude this diagnosis; in 17-22% of cases, the readers in this study did not suggest the diagnosis of neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia of infancy when it was present.
